How can a man with a known history of granting foreigners special immigration favours be given the same power again to repeat the international embarrassment over again? Are we slow to learn? The only results of this shake down will be that foreign companies will get frustrated with the higher level of scrutiny and cronyism and will pull out on projects, and someone/s pockets will get more full as the system will be more susceptible to payouts and corruption.
Ok. Let me try this again and not have Tribune delete my post: From the article and Gomez's own admission I do not see how it can be justified to charge a client $500K to receive a $1.5 million check from the government on his behalf. These actions appear very suspicious and I am concerned that if this is Gomez's apparent practice professionally that these same apparent squandering practices are carried over into the way he fulfills his political appointment.
I am concerned that this man may have made it into the House of Assembly. I am even more concerned that the likes of some of the current members of the House are not far from the intellectual level of Mr. Moncur. I am very concerned.
My God, what have we gotten ourselves into with this PLP Government? I cannot fathom that the people who were elected to lead us would seriously consider this plan without seeing the far reaching implications. I am very concerned.
Nottage is extremely hot tempered and now that he carries a gun I am very concerned with his remark in the HOA that he will "deal with" Butler-Turner later. i am very concerned.
WHAT??? This is the government's master plan for crime - use defense force officers?? So what happens to the roles the defense officers are ordinarily filling? The police would not have a shortage of manpower if the Prime Minister had to increased his police assignment from 6 to 24, if officers weren't deployed to sit in Urban Renewal centers all day, if officers were not sent to baby sit school children when then already have security guards, if officers were not assigned to be at every hospital 24/7 when the hospitals could provide their own security personnel, if cabinet ministers did not now have police outriders, etc, etc. As a direct results of decisions made by the government, at least 100 police officers have been removed from normal active service in order to fill political assignments. The master plan is now to replace them with defense force officers. WOW!!!
