Is this one of the accomplishments of the 100 Day Challenge? Because this really isn't the type of achievement I was expecting under a new government. I am crossing my finger that it will turn up somewhere. Come on, what can a person do with a throne? Who can you sell it to? A Lyford Cay resident? On eBay? Melt down the brass plate and sell to the scrap metal dealers? Ship the wood to Haiti as charcoal? You really can't have a throne sitting up in your living room and showing it off to your friends and family when they come over. Either there is a mistake or our criminals are getting dumber and dumber.
Whether temporarily or permanently, please tell me...... how does a country lose a throne????
If her brain was as big as her teeth she may had known better. But the sad part is that in a couple of months she will place on her journalism resume that in May 2012 her writing was published internationally and she was able to double her Twitter followers in one day. That's the American way. Use every opportunity to exploit others. Kinda reminds me of a situation back home here.
We celebrate May 22, 2012 as the day that Nellie Day brought a divided nation back together, even if only for 24hrs.
Mr. Roberts, How can national healing and unity begin when every chance you get you are spreading venom and vileness against the former government and its followers? You started this from May 7 and have not stopped yet. Just this morning you were on the radio blasting your anger across the country. Listeners are hearing you and following suit. Have you noticed the comments that are posted under your online forum posts. I know people have their liberty to do as they wish but please Sir, it begins with you. Most of the country want to move on but you can't let it go. Congratulations on your election victory. We commend you and all stroke your ego. Now sir, please change your approach to public relations.
It is so surprising that all the previous Moody reports on the Bahamas under the previous government were correct and now under a new administration Moody doesn't know what it is doing. The hypocrisy is choking.
The U.S. was only able to offer a mortgage bailout because it has the financial backing to do it. The Bahamas does not have this. As I look through the Bahamas bank repossessed listings I don't see many homes worth less that $200K, so is mortgage relief really helping the small man or people who overstretched their means to keep with the Joneses and now have to suffer. What the government needs is a trade in scheme; give us your oversized house and we will give you a lower priced house that you can actually afford. In fact, do you really need a house and mortgage? Renting is so much cheaper in the long run. We've falsely sold our people on the notion that unless you actually own a house, you aren't anything.
Anyway, fortunately for me I have ways to move my money out Bahamian banks and into the U.S. and Canadian market and will start doing so the moment this silly proposal is passed. That way I have no worries for when the BS dollar is devalued. My hard earning savings, by sweat and sacrifice, is not going to degrade because of egos to political leaders to fulfill nonsensical election promises.
