"Another boost is likely to have been provided by the Government’s foreign currency borrowings. Besides the $252m International Monetary Fund (IMF) loan, Mr Turnquest yesterday said the Government had already accessed $248m as part of a bridge financing deal before concluding further borrowings of $200m with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and $40m with the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB)."
More gazillions in loans and their interest. What is the collateral? Our Country? Our Islands?? Our souls???
Mask mania! The man has gone mad! Those emergency powers need to be rescinded before we truly become a police state. Instead of worrying about just how far he can go with infringing on the freedom of movement and even of breathing, the leader of our country should be focused on the shambles of: the police force, the hospitals, the schools, the immigration department, the utility companies, the public treasury and the tourist industry. Oh, my bad, the last one has already been take care of!
"Mr Turnquest said the latter figure just covered the already loss-making national flag carrier's wage bill". Seven million dollars a month on wages for what??
The "Minister" knows nothing and does nothing about national security, one of the worst of the Minnis appointees. Abaco and all of the Bahamas that the Government can get its clutches, or lack of clutches, on is going to hell in a hand-basket......
How much did they pocket for that one??? And the beat of corruption goes on and on and on. Not worth inking ya finger every five years. Face masks don't hide corrupt government pretense of doing it for jobs for the people while the real objective is exploitation of the locals, exportation of profits and the lining of the pockets of the politicians in power. WHEN are Bahamians going to finally realize that they are being swung? I guess when they stop aiding and abetting the chief gangsters for the crumbs..
