Keep on digging Minnis. Before you could build a good foundation you have to get the garbage out. Yes bursting those puss balls may hurt but only then could true healing begin.

I do have 'O' level Maths and I find it amazing that you don't understand that the current situation involving these entities are unsustainable. If you want to ran these entities as a branch of Social Services there is a more efficient way to do so. I can pay the employees of these entities directly while they sit home and still will not ran a deficit of 429m. Example ; 429M divided by 10,000 employees is $42900.Those entities combine don't have 10,000 employees nor are their average salary $42,900. O Level Maths

Maybe you have not notice Oldfort2012 ,they are already a disaster and dragging the country with it. These entities are responsible for a large percentage of our national debt and thus our junk rating. You don't embrace cancer you cut it out.

The government should get out of the business of running businesses. Everything the Government touches sooner or later becomes a basket case. Bahamasair, BEC, BOB and numerous hotels. The only reason BTC was profitable was because it was allowed to rape the Bahamian people. The Government should sell these assets and use the money to pay down the national debt.Even if they sold BOB for a dollar, it would probably save the government 100's of millions of dollars over the next decade.

The Government is concerned about been blacklisted because they believe that non-compliance will have a devastating affect on our bank sector. The affect of compliance has already decimated our financial sector. Any further coputulation will further erode anything we have left. We need to let the OECD countries know that we will go no further than what the USA, Cayman islands or any other jurisdiction has gone.

Our elected officials are totally ignorant of what other countries are doing with regards to immigration. There is a world wide competition for qualified immigrants. United States and Canada have recognized this and has fully exploited it in the Western World. These two countries recognized that immigration is a net plus not a net negative. Their economies continue to grow not because of their indigenous population but because of immigrants. Case and point,I have a classmate with a PHD in physics who lives and work in the United States.
