It's not difficult to get gaming moneys into the "so call legitimate banks". They accept gaming moneys practically every day. All the gaming bosses have to do is open accounts in their own names and pay themselves a high salary. Another way is to open laundromats, invest in fishing boats and say you sell fish, the list goes on and on. More illegitimate moneys goes through Canada in a day than what the Bahamas would see in a decade. Canada's GDP is 1.5 trillion dollars and the Bahamas is 11 billion. So even if 1% of the Canadian economy is illegitimate, it is still more than our entire GDP. Statistics in Canada shows that the underground economy is 42 billion dollars.
Where ever you have the word union substitute the word "grouping of workers".It's easy to criticize a "union"when in your own mind it is distinct from the workers.Your solution to the problem is a clear indication of your ignorance of what it takes to be an Air Traffic Controller. The government came up with a solution several years ago to train Defense Force Officers as temporary Air Traffic Controllers. Out of the twenty officer they brought in after three years only two pass. Apply those seem odds to your past profession (teacher) and current profession (lawyer).... I will go no further... I think you got my point.
The government did take the Defence Force route a couple of decades ago. I think that out of 20 officers, 2 passed and it took them 3 years. The job appears to be far more difficult than it looks. Everyone brags about what Ronald Reagan did but no one mention the increase in near misses due to Controller fatigue. The salary increase that Reagan bark about was paid to new controller in order to increase recruiting. Today, Controllers as a group in the US are the highest paid Federal Employees because of the actions taking by those before them.
Their is little concern about human rights. How many of our young men would have been pick-up by the police, beating and send home without ever been charge. In fact, it is a common joke when a person is pickup on a Friday and have to endure until Monday. We have a problem but we are so backwards in our thinking that we attempt to dismiss the issue by pointing to some other malady.
As much as I detest collective bargaining and have no taste for civil disorder, Sandals also carry some responsibility here also. The workers established a union in a legal manner, recognized by the Labor Department. It's obvious to everyone that Sandals didn't want a union in its work place. I own a company and rightfully so, I don't want one in my company but once the law to established one was followed then I will concede to workers' legal right for representation. Sandals most likely will have to concede or pay for wrongful dismissal.
The dive is not something new to track. It happen to Chris Brown during the 2008 Olympics and as recent as the US Olympic trials. I don't see what the big deal is. The Olympic comes every four years. Do what you have to do legally to win because the next track sensation is right around the corner or the athlete taking the undetectable PED.

Classical union busting. Sandals will now say that the union doesn't hold majority sway. Another vote will be held and the employees will be reluctant to vote for collective bargaining.
