I am of the opinion that anyone who have a problem with Dr. Minnis leadership upon him winning should not seek to be lead by him going into the next general election. The honorable thing would be for them to fall on their sword. It would be foolish for Dr Minnis to keep a group of "Brutus" with swords as his rear guard.
It is simple. No funding for convention, no convention. Minnis stays on as leader. The grouping who scheme and twisted every John Doe arm for the convention, should pay for it. Minnis have everything to lose if a convention is held. Minnis is playing a brilliant game of political chess and he is winning handily. If I was a delegate I would place the onus on those who was pushing for a convention to fund it or let the status quo remain. I could assure you if those oppose to Dr. Minnis were sure that Minnis would not be successful the money would be in place to host the convention. At least Brent is a good gambler, he knows a winning horse when he sees one.
Economist your bias is rendering you illogical. C.A. Smith, Carl Bethel and myself are over forty five. If you didn't know, now you know. I don't even know Mr. Minnis and I could say, its commendable for a newspaper boy to become a doctor.
On one hand you don't consider me a good leader, on the other hand you want me to lead you into the general election. If Minnis wins, the MP's who so vehemently oppose should do the honorable thing. "Fall on their swords".Minnis will be a fool to keep six "Brutus" with swords as rear guards.
If the seawalls are anything like the ones in William Town then it will be well deserve although the price seems a bit steep. Maybe not due to the fact that the government pays a premium of 35% for not paying in a timely manner.
LOL. The email was not meant for Dr. Minnis. It was actually "letter to the editor" copied to Dr. Minnis. This entire fiasco is getting more and more pathetic. If you have a problem with your leader a forum has already been created to address it. I consider myself an independent voter and I find this distasteful.
Minnis won the last leadership race by 298 to LBT 106. That's a huge margin to makeup. Its not reasonable to believe that LBT would be able to makeup the difference. 298 is more than what Ingraham got. She has to get 96 grassroot delegates to flip. Remember she has two major obstacle to overcome. Been a woman and the fact that her brand and that of her family is more PLP than FNM. Grass root FNM's are stauchly anti-PLP.
This whole affair borders on lunacy. This group is saying Minnis needs to go but not one person has indicated any willingness to grab the wheel. A bad driver is better than "no driver".Please don't suggest LBT. If you can't get an equal rights constitutional amendment pass what make anyone believe that The Bahamas is ready for a women PM.
Honestman you gotta be kidding. Minnis won the last leadership election with more delegate than what Hubert Ingraham won when he became leader. It obvious that you have brought the narrative pushed by the Bay Street Boys through their mouth piece the Guardian and Tribune.
A referendum on the issue most likely will result in the status quo. What the government can do is upon them turning eighteen, these individual could go through a one day swearing in ceremony and apply for a passport right away. The three to ten year wait is whats fueling their discontentment.
