I have always been of the opinion that there are far more mentally ill people than we care to imagine. Just like the body gets sick the mental part of us also experience illnesses. No one wants to be identified as crazy so we self medicate by drinking, smoking or some other way to relieve the illness that exist in our mind. Some mental problems are chronic and others are as simple as the common cold. If you never had the common cold then you can rule yourself from the number of those who never experience some form of mental illness.
I don't know how the PM could expect the commissioner to solve the problem of God-less, unemployable, fatherless youths with no-social skills roaming the inner city looking to earn their so call strips.
Get over it disgruntle FNM's. The average Bahamian have not brought into the media trying to hijack Dr. Minnis leadership. I personally don't know whether he is a good leader or not but I am convince that no one can be worst than Christie. One more thing, I had my fill of slick talking lawyers.
During the Bahama fiasco the government insisted that the bankruptcy court hearing take place in the Bahamas, do you think they will ever insist that drug dealers be tried here. It will be nice to see the extradition laws carried out in a reciprocal manner. You send one American, we send one Bahamian.
The businesses are the one that should be awarded. The government has been trying to collect taxes for years with minimal success. The first year you pass it over to the private sector they surpass your best estimate.
Gainfully employed will need to be proved. Do immigration have a salary stub, cheque or any evidence that he was receiving a salary or any form of compensation for services rendered. All the courts are asking is in light of the fact you kick him out, why, and if its because he was gainfully employed then show us the evidence he was. Checks and balances are a beautiful thing when it works correctly.
Our immigration laws are archaic and need to stop playing on the fears of the Bahamian people. A client of mine needed 50 work permits for his company that had intentions of moving their headquarters to the Bahamas. After several months of stonewalling he ended up in Florida.
