There is a criminal charge associated with trying to take an officer's gun. In light of the fact no charges was filed, legally, trying to take an officer's gun didn't occur. Thus the opportunity for civil damages. Him leaving the Bahamas doesn't prevent him from seeking damages.
Our law enforcement agencies have been out of control for some time now. We turn a deaf ear to practically all cases of abuse whether it be Bahamian or foreigner(except if you are white). In our collective conscientiousness we feel that the biggity nigger deserve a cut behind or to be treated in a degrading way. We have been taught to hate self and if you are a reflection of me in color, in features and hair, I hate you. Thus our dilemma as a people.
Its easy to advocate flogging for a black man but I wonder if he feels the same way about flogging a white Canadian or English women. Deep in the blackman's psyche is the belief that the only way to control a black man is to use the tools of the slave master.
There are far more deserving floggees in this country than immigrants. The first grouping are lawyers who are politicians. We need to find someway of discouraging them from entering the halls of parliament. I think flogging will serve as both a physical and psychological barrier for crooked lawyers entering politics.
Lady Justice will tell you it was specifically the lawyers who had their way with her. The bloodsucking lawyers continue to stand in line each awaiting their turn.
Part of political smarts is the ability to forecast. If Dr. Bernard Nottage and his defunct party couldn't win a seat, no party outside of the PLP and FNM will govern this country. I have voted for every third party and my vote will not go to waste again. It's obvious, the people don't want a third party.Dr. Bernard Nottage had everything necessary to win, name recognition, experience, a good slate of candidates and still couldn't win one seat.
