Until you ran a business many individual don't understand why an employer can have arrears to NIB. When a business have limited funds you have some tough choices to make. You make the decisions that allow the business to continue. Keeping electricity, water, purchasing merchandise, paying employees allows the business to continue into next week. Not paying NIB doesn't necessarily result in your business closing. Asked any employee if they prefer their salary to be payed or NIB and the response will be salary.
Motivation is a huge factor. Take for instance a gardener. You have a Bahamian who most likely hates been a gardener and looking forward to moving on. You have a Haitian who is thrill to be working a steady job. I have tried landscaping and I lasted only one week. I was not giving a fair chance to be good at it. My boss at the time give me a pick axe and a shovel and pointed out a mountain of harden filled and told me to level it off.
My child graduated this year and finished with 7A's and 4B's.I graduate with 5 O levels, 1A,1B,3 c's. I think the present exams are very much watered down. If our students were given an objective measurement it would be worst.
Yes, I am presently one of the persons caught up in this fiasco. I told them I could order a box of cards from Australia and I have it in hand in about two and a half days. Why, please tell me why after a month you'll have the same excuse.
