take away the tourists, take away the tax breaks, take away your livelihood. Abaco gone independent this time maybe. all the touri just cancelled there trip to help the economy,
doubtful. there is a certain nationality that does not believe in building maintenance, they believe in letting their real estate holdings look as crappy as possible and as long as they are around nothing will happen.
Like the PLP Tribonon says, fire all them civil servants that we don't need. cut ministry and department completments to 50% staffing and problem solved... right?
streetlights? stop signs? why you all digging up the nice new roads? what does a hole in the ground have to do with an above ground event? many roads were paved 2 years before the storm, now they might as well have not bothered, they all swiss cheese up. this organization has about as much credibility as NEMA these days. airport repairs? Govt complex repairs? AC in offices that don't have windows that can open? rebuild police station or will they stay in the borrowed office? the public docks? the playgrounds?
When the public sector civil service is reduced to an appropriate and manageable 15% of the entire labour force, then we can talk. until then... i say general strike if they want more blood from the stone. Right now 40% of us are working our a$$e$ off to support the other 60% of the workforce who get lifelong govt salary, deduction, pension, health insurance. My families biggest annual bill is health insurance... guess what is going to be cut when taxes go up? the health insurance.
