Still no empirical evidence that this dis-ease is any worse than any other variation of the Flu. But you are going to see increased domestic violence, mortgage defaults will go through the roof, 25% of business will close and never reopen, insurance sales will drop, NIB contributions will flounder, bank fees will go up, children will repeat the grade.
14 day curfew is a joke. if you aren't going to do this for 60 days minimum then the curfew isn't going to help at all. a person is infectious for well over 14 days. Now explain to me how 14 day curfew will take care of all the carriers without symptoms who could be infectious up to a month.
Well done Minnis et. al. you have officially screwed the pooch. and 14 days won't do crap to prevent anything. if you are going to be serious about this tell everyone its going to be 60 days right now, instead of keeping us all in suspense. Show me the evidence.
the data out of china is flawed. you can't test only sick people and say OMG we have a 100% infection rate.
whats the bahamas cut on this? therein lies the real question. if we get 80% while BPC gets 20% and they still want to go ahead with it, I say sure. that way the bahamas will have funds to clean up afterwards.
so much for transparency. we still waiting on disclosures around all this. its all good and well to say that $20m was spent on clean up but the people want the details. In my view if you are willing to take a govt contract you are automatically open to scrutiny by the employer the bahamian people. $20m to run 2 dozen dump trucks and a dozen excavators for 6 months seems like a really lucrative contract. I see the companies who got the contracts all have lots of shiny new equipment that they didn't have before. To be clear i am not saying there was any wrong actions but lack of disclosure leads to teh assumption of nefarious activity. Prove me wrong please.
on the other hand i heard a story where the insurance company said they would pay out less if the property was sold and not rebuilt. That is plainly criminal.
