had another instance where the call centre told me one thing went to the branch they told me something different, back to call centre, back to branch. this went on over a multiple days until i basically said thanks i'm going to another bank. then they finally fixed whatever the inexplicable problem was. And the banks wondering why their cost of business is going up, maybe its the silly protocols you've put in place, but we have to suck up the burden of teh extra costs in larger banking fees. $80 to send a $1,200 wire to US bank, highway robbery i tell ya. i'm going to switch to BOB where i don't have to pay back my loans and my MPS is be my compliance documents.
couldn't agree more. All while claiming to improve the ease of doing business, meanwhile the paperwork now needed for everything is incredible. The banks claim they are following instructions set by Central Bank. its ridiculous. you now need to present 2 forms of photo ID to get your car filled with gas!!!
Yes lets get a proper public and open land registry. make mortgage stats public too. whats the average mortgage amount? average equity ratios, typical LTV ratios for commercial. why is this always kept so hidden from public light in the Bahamas? The property tax register is supposed to be available to any member of hte public upon request according to the letter of the law. but yet go into the office and ask for a copy, see how far that goes.
Am i the only one who looks at all this KYC bullcrap and sees visions of the Emperors New Clothes? Looks like a lucky few people just got really really really nice cushy govt jobs forever and ever, can't get fired and don't need no edumacation, only gotta pretend to shuffle paper. while the work load of the rest of the real working world just doubled because of hte new clothes.
I completely disagree that cultivation should be limited to a lucky few who get rights/licenses. it should be wide open for the public. You are saying that the likes of Minnis, Faintheart, Symonette and Ingraham get the sole right to cultivate? Really? And who is going to foot the bill to keep these areas secure? A little bit prejudice of you to say that only a select few get the right to cultivate no?
