So a contract is obtained without a bid process. Without open transparency. Without proper RFP. Deemed to be fraudulent or overpriced at minimum but govt has to honour it because it has a signature? What load of horse dung. What are the payments for? If there is nothing to worry about then come clean.

How? Ah I give up. Union BS

DWW says...

So I am so confused. If utilities regulation doesn't mean that then what does it mean? BTC can't lower your phone bill without consultation but BEC (chuckle BPL) can fleece the bahamas and that is ok. Fire every single union member and start from scratch. Give me a 6 week crash course and I bet a $200,000 a year salary I could do the jobs of 4 of them. Think I'm joking? Call my bluff i dare you.

Do you want to know why this whole issue is bs? Do you want to know why it is a big problem? Really? Well it is very simple. The mps, the cabinet, and all the big wigs have to give up the overarching power. The act is based upon local government and local planning and approval. The idea is that the director doesn't approve the numbers house on bernard road. The intention is for central eastern township committee to approve the numbers house on bernard road. But unless we change our mindset of masters and servants this will never happen.

If you read the act it puts the power in the people not the director. Read the act before making silly statements. DPP dont want it because their inner working would be transparent. Basically it says if you want to build a hotel on walkers cay then go talk to the people on grand cay and ask their permission. Or lighthouse point would be decided by the people in deep creek and not the big wigs or eco warriors in nassau. It is a good piece of legislation but too many would lose their benefits on the side. however the act has no teeth without the land use plan which has never been created. Probably because it involves someone actually doing to bloody work in this sodding country

Governments hate competition! But seriously, the entire Bahamas was able to adjust to VAT in a matter of a month or 2, but these idiots need a year? Seems i'm missing something. And if they are that bad at numbers, percentages, programming or regulatory adherence, then maybe they shouldn't be in the gambling business. i mean, if the they can't keep the house always winning then they won't make a massive profit. this situation makes me smile.

Ridonculously funny. More spat being played out in public. All of these people on BEC/BPL are jokers. One putting value on old tired gennys like they brand new. The other one using worldwide averages. Every bahamian knows full well that anything and everything in the bahamas is double. Buy a TV for 500 it will $1000 here. Buy a car for 5k it will be 10k. Buy a $30m genny it will be 60 here. Duh.
