Ease of doing business you say? Shall we talk about the thousands of Bahamians who are waiting for a tax ID # for their real estate holding? need a building permit - go get your tax id #. need to borrow some money - need a property tax ID #. selling or buying? need a tax ID #. Ease of doing business you say? need to hire a customs broker to process a single item being shipped into the port. Ease of doing business you say? no plates at road traffic for a month or 2 at a time. ease of doing business you say? Pintard appears to be more hot air than any actual solutions. Lets not even talk about Freeport, that is a lost town and the sooner people see that the emperor has no clothes the better we will be.
First one needs to separate the "builders" from the "contractors". The 2 are not the same. A builder builds a house and collects a paycheck at the end of the day for his work, there is no profit margin and someone else is managing construction. A "Contractor" works on a fixed price contract with specifics and responsibilities of the project to be completed. So many so called 'contractor's' cant read and have a young lady fresh out of high school typing up a 1 page "contract" to try and get work. A contract means if you don't complete the job or don't do it right there are penalties to be paid. Way too many people working in this business who don't have a clue what they are doing.
the sad irony is that if it did happen it would be some terrorist group like Hamas or North Korea and then every single innocent Bahamian and everyone else living in this god's country would then pay the consequences and the USA would play right into the hands of the terrorists giving them exactly what they wanted - a new war and more suffering. Hamas wants death and pain and they got it, Israel and USA are responding exactly as intended to escalate and cause more death and pain of countless innocent lives.
