Yes its good news, but it is 90% not including the full tower. In addition i believe there are still people furloughed and on top of that the people they let go. Unfortunately i would guess the hotels will be running as lean as possible going forward. Lets hope beach will open shortly and we continue to see good numbers.

Yes Wartsila, who operate in a huge number of countries around the world, with no issues, is responsible for Bahamas having faulty engines. Bahamas where BPL and BEC before have never been able to run the engines well for a short period of time. Makes sense

Dawes says...

Anyone involved with BPL can congratulate themselves on being part of the reason this country is in the situation it is. They have never been able to keep the power on, and charge a fortune for the lousy service they give. I am sure most people would be happy when the day comes and we can be rid of BPL.

Bahamians are the ones being unconvinced by the traffic to get to work. How many people benefit from those roads, except people using it as a shortcut. That shortcut makes the traffic worse for all. Unless only foreigners are in the traffic and Bahamians take those shortcuts. Same everywhere there is gridlock, it is made worse by all the side streets.

Dawes says...

Nothing will change as no one is held accountable. Government doesn't care about the money as its just taxpayers money. If they cared heads would roll, but that will never happen.

Dawes says...

So now this has become political traffic will be a mess in that area for a long time. Once the pointe gets fully operating and cruise ships are back that area is going to be a nightmare. But seeing as that's the future no need to think how to create situations that will alleviate the problems. All those side roads should be either closed or one way going away from Bay street. Only Nassau street should be a road that people can access Bay. This would at least do something to help. But nope its the silly season and this has become political so that won't happen. Also if anyone thinks they blocked that road without any OK from Government they are most probably wrong. If we ever get to see the heads of agreement its probably right in there.

Dawes says...

Interesting to see if the Director will ensure this act is applied to all or just this one comapny due to the politics going on. We all see areas being cleared and i would assume most don't have the necessary OK. Especially as many then sit for years like that.

Dawes says...

I think there are now a few. One of them from what i hear is partially owned by a member of the opposition (deputy). So if/when Government changes expect to see a lot given to that company instead.

Fully agree, it is asinine the level of hoops one has to jump through just to open an account at a bank. And then all the yearly information you must provide
