Tell the staff to come back to work in the office, that will sort one problem out. Then pay them the amount as per the contract and negotiate better next time if you don't want to pay it. On the building the new buildings it is just like a union leader to not think forward to what is needed in the future rather then the past.
Why not allow the residents of those communities to run their power company. The people of Spanish Wells do and hardly have many power cuts (so i have been told) . Of curse it should be mandated that once passed over Government would not be subsidizing them anymore.
As this became political from a number of years ago, the only way to sort this would be for Government to buy the land off access industries at market price. But they won't want to do that due to cost. From what i have heard this is private land, which means it is the owners property to do with it as they see fit (within town planning rules). If however there is also public access /right of way this must continue.
One thing never mentioned when we talk about growing our own, is are we OK on paying more for food. One of the reasons our farming died is because it was cheaper to import. If local food is going to be more expensive it may not be worth it.
Most calling for income tax, mean income tax on other people and not them. The issue with income tax is do we have the numbers of people earing the correct amount to bring it in. I am sure they have had studies done but these have not been released (or are very hard to find online)
From what i have read they say that is not possible as the person can still charge at the officer. This sounds like a terrible situation where the officer did not want to but had to, I take it they don't have tasers which would have been better. It is very wrong that we dont give those who need it the help they need as situations like these might not happen.
