It used to show that as i had a friend who booked their 2nd dose. But now another friend tried and it is showing none available.

The vaccine does not stop the virus, it does however severely limit how bad it gets and massively reduces the number of deaths. The UK is seeing daily deaths down to single digits (and down 69% from a week ago), whilst cases are down around 3,00 a day (17% down on a week ago and down from 60,000 at the start of the year). The USA had deaths over 2,000 a day a short while ago, now it is in the 7-800 range, cases around 70,000 from 250,000. This is the same in most countries that have widespread use of the vaccine. Bahamas is under 5% vaccinated, which is not widespread.

Strange that i had heard a while ago they bought that to be the PM's house. Then they could close the beach off that end for security reasons (due to it being the PM's house), which would in effect make Wynn's beach private. Wonder which story is true.

Dawes says...

Thank you, the idea that by buying this house they protected beach access for Bahamians is laughable. And yet the Tribune as always has not pointed that out.

I take it you have had all the other vaccines that we are giving. The ones that means huge numbers of kids don't die before they are 5 years old? If you have why?

Dawes says...

So a whole article and at the end the WSC say why they had to do it. Why did the tribune not check to see if WSC is correct and per General orders they had no choice. If that is the case then they did nothing wrong. If thats not the case then they were wrong.

We all know this is a done deal, just like Disney. The rest is all theatre and show to make gullible people believe they are following due process. Only an idiot can believe it is wise to have a private island of the cruise ships right downtown, you may as well tell Bay street give up.

Dawes says...

Am sure this is all great news, but what is the plan long term. Is every one of our islands going to be built upon. When i was a kid you could go to North Exuma and see a few homes on Highbourne and Normans, then not much (some small ones on other islands). Now every single island has a home, and each one has many large yachts outside. Harbour Island has been too expensive for Bahamians for a while, same with the Abaco cays, more and more areas in NP are too expensive for us. When does it stop? I am sure the real estate agents are happy as they are making plenty, but my kids will not be able to see half of The Bahamas i was able to, and their kids even less. We need to work out how this economy will work for all rather then benefitting a few.

Herein lies a big problem, and one Government needs to deal with. They can't just demolish the homes if there is nowhere for people to live. They should come up with a sensible solution that works for all. Also if there are illegals then deal with that issue. As a note whilst i feel for the lady in this article, why in the world would you have 6 kids if you can't afford to look after them. At some point people need to realize having that many children will mean you will never have enough (you could earn $100,000 and still struggle with 6 kids).

On Where do they go after demolitions?

Just as a point, I think Sir Etienne fought in the first world war, the Nazis was the second.
