If the tribune would look back on its old newspapers it would find that every year BPL promises this will be the last. Then another huge amount of money is pumped into them and the next year its just as bad. This year will be the same. And as normal nothing will happen. We need news organisations like the Tribune to hold Government to account and investigate why these things are happening. As it is you just report what happened but not why.

So BPL is unable to do its mandate and no one is laid off. How can i get one of these cushy jobs? Can the Government also assume all liabilities for the private sector, that way no one will need to be laid off as it appears not to matter how badly run a company is, Government will never do what is needed.

I agree the police can't be everywhere to deal with this. however when there is a video you can get the people after the fact and take them to court.

Silly people, Just go buy some medical supplies and renounce Bahamian Citizenship and you can come over. its not that hard.

Dawes says...

The Covid Status of the person does not matter. How they were allowed onto an international flight is the concern. Stop trying to sweep this under the rug, deal with those responsible.

Dawes says...

They can say whatever they want. it doesn't matter. We will still have to pay huge amounts for crappy service. And at some point also the additional for the bond reduction. Of course no one at the company will be held accountable. I normally say they are useless. But it is us the people who are as we have allowed ourselves to be walked all over.

No problem with this. You can just stay in isolation until a vaccine and the rest of us who want to can go back to work and carry on.

Fully agree. All this means is whenever the PLP get elected again the FNM will be treated in the same fashion. The speaker is not meant to be on the government side, they are meant to be impartial. This one is not.

Based on the route the car took there were plenty of CCTV cameras that would have caught the driver. As they haven't we all know why.

Dawes says...

We have a mortality rate of 14% because we don't test. If we were all tested then the rate would go down dramatically. They keep mentioning this rate and then those super spreaders who they have not tested. So they know there are plenty people out there who have it. But it benefits them to say plenty people will die if they don't have this lock down. Ask them to show what the effect will be in deaths for us with so many people unemployed. How many additional deaths there will be in the long term as the Government will not be able to fund the already underfunded health care. They should open up and those who are high risk completely self isolate. Why should all of the population watch pretty much everything disappear because we are unwilling to isolate these 14% (which will be a lot lower).
