This is a disgrace. If he is that worried about Covid then he should have kept the borders closed. This has nothing to do with Covid and all to do with his power trip. I apologize for voting FNM, won't happen again. On another note, is there anyone here that can get me into the one of the gated communities on the beach this weekend . as we know this law isn't for them. I hear Breezers has guests, is he really saying they can't go to the beach? If they say those are private beaches then i should be OK as long as i go to a private beach.
Well if the hotels aren't open of course they won't come. Will be interesting to read your complaints going forward when the economic impact starts to be felt. Though i am sure you won't realize that it is due to tourists not coming, which is what you wanted.
Every year these issues come up but the root cause of the problem is never changed. Why, because too many people are able to make good money on the system being dysfunctional
I want them as i realize we won't be able to survive for too long without. Whether we like it or not we decided to be a tourist nation, we are unable to change our economy quick enough to benefit people. If there is no vaccine in a years time and the US is still having cases are you saying that we should still be closed? And if so are you ok with unemployment being over 50% and all the issues that will bring?
Don't worry we will now find out how well this country will be able to withstand 10's of thousands of people being unemployed. This is but the first of many layoffs. I hope you don't complain when the taxes are raised on those lucky enough to still have a job (i assume thats you and that you aren't in the tourist industry).
Fully agree. Many others live in this bubble that we can just shut until the virus is over and then re-open as though nothing has happened. The number of people already about to find out they will be laid off will be dwarfed by the immediate layoffs should we close again. Yes it is a huge risk to re-open but there is nothing to stop those with underlying conditions or who are old to self isolate, there is no need for all of us to stay closed up.
I note it says groups of 5 or more on public beaches. Is this going to be how the hotels will be able to allow more then that? Will they be enforcing the beach below high tide is public or is it beaches with public access are public? As i take it those places like Albany and others don't actually have to follow the rules the rest of us do.
Those elderly and underlying should isolate until the vaccine then. Europe is seeing a resurgence as they re-open so per your logic no one should be allowed to travel here. OK lets start building the soup line kitchens on a massive scale that will be needed for your plan. Also lets increase VAT to 25% and bring in income tax so Government may have a chance of paying it (though income tax won't bring in as much as not many people will be working).

The problem is if you don't open to the US then there is no point re-opening. We all know this.
