Taxes won't go up until after the next election. Then whoever wins will have to put them up. If FNM they will say no choice. If PLP they will say to pay off bad decisions FNM made.
Once we take the statue down we should not put up a new one until that persons full history has been explored. This would include all the good and bad they did. Perhaps even having a list of their wealth so we can work out if they obtained any from illegal ways. If no one can be found without a blemish on their record we should leave the plinth empty.
May as well shut the country down until a cure comes if we are going to insist on tourists having the test. Much easier and cheaper for them to go some where in the US. I would expect we can look forward to hearing many more then just the 15-20% being let go at Bahamar in the near future, hope everyone ready to pay a much greater amount in tax going forward to fund the next couple of years.
If they do replace the statue i hope they put one of a Lucayan up, with the full history of what happened. Or maybe have both but the Lucayan higher up. We must learn from our history whether it is good or bad.
I read this and have to say i was lost? Is this meant to be an indepth article by the tribune (not very indepth and plenty of conjuncture) , or was it paid for by someone (and if so who).
Obviously you are financially well off enough not to have to worry for the next few months. Most of us are not. What should we do when our resources run out and there are no prospects of jobs due to no tourists being here?
Seeing as we never have a Government willing to make the hard decisions by trimming their expenses, we know that after the election taxes will go up (regardless of who wins). Then the unions will demand more and the Government will say yes, leading us back to square one.
