there are too many stories like this where the medical professional protects their own. Then they wonder why those who can afford it go overseas for care. Its because they will trust that should anything go wrong there will be justice. Its just a shame that justice is either never served here, or is delayed so long.
Is this meant to be like the old "if you build it they will come", except the idea is if you knock it down they will come? Where is the plan for rebuilding. What is to be allowed there? Seems to just be some hope that something may happen
We could be so much better as a country, but the powers that be have to interfere in everything to get their cut. They are too silly to realize that they could make so much more if we as a country did better. Why we can't be the Singapore of this region is beyond me.
"According to Ms Seymour, Mr Pintard cited Mr Wells’ health and his failure to support the current leadership team as reasons for the rejection. However, she believes the real motive was political." Umm yes if you don't support the leadership then you won't be able to run. That is politics 101. But why would Ms. Seymour say she believes it was political when Mr Pintard basically said it was by saying Wells not supporting him was the reason.
In the early 2000's when the first Pirate of the Caribbean came out, we had a chance to completely redevelop Fort Charlotte and surrounding areas into a place that tourists would love to go. The beach could have stretched from Western Esplanade to Fish Fry and there could have been Mutiple Bahamian Food stores inside the area with a semi theme park(or water park) based on pirates. The Fort could have been used to enhance this and also to tell our history. Since that movie has come out, the only change has been adding some extra step seats at Clifford Park and the steps going down from Clifford. There is no thought of long-term growth, only what can i make. I forgot they also put a fence around Clifford Park so we are unable to go most times.
How was there no choice? Obviously there was the UK, even though you chose to say timing was wrong, but that's still a choice. But there is also the open market where we could borrow. Just like we have done for countless other items (remember how they were bragging about how much they were able to get from the open market). There was plenty choices, this is the one that helps the Govt tick a political box before an election, and China gets what it needs (influence and able to direct us how to vote on issues). as well as employ its people to build it.
Why do both sides in the above argument think their side is only doing it for an altruistic reason. Thye both are doing it for their own geo-political reasons. There are strings attached to whichever side you chose. All you have to hope is we chose the right side of the two.
Government needs to decide what they want downtown to be. It would be hard to have a residential area if they close the main road 10--20 times a year. Of course it is possible to close the road, however you would need to have a good back up road plan for people to be able to take. Not just expect them to all be prepared to sit in traffic for a couple hours each time.
