This is all normal of our Governments (both PLP and FNM). They are so archaic that they don't realise there is a thing called the internet and things they say can and will be read around the world. So you have the Government on the one hand saying we have a commercial enterprise bill, this is for the foreigners as we need them to come so we do this to encourage it. on the other hand we have a very xenophobic population so whenever things are politically bad we will say something against the foreigners. Now in the Governments mind these two will never read what they have said to the other one.
I would imagine the negotiations went something like this: Hutchinson walks in and tell the government they would like them to bend over, and Government looks at The Bahamas and tells them to bend. Another example of how useless this Government is.
So you buy a building with no idea of how much it will cost to fix up, and now its too much that building will be left to rot. You lot are a complete and utter waste of space. I had hopes after the election but now i realise you are all inept.
And pass a law saying Bahamians are not allowed to work elsewhere, only in The Bahamas. There are no doubt many Bahamians whoa re qualified to do these jobs, however they would rather make their living overseas, in London, NYC, Cayman, Barbados etc they should be forced back right?
Can the Union be shut down for treating us like dogs for years? Also Mr. Maynard should check his story to make sure it makes sense. If this manger has been treating the staff like this for 4 years as he said, and the reason nothing was done is because her political party is in power, how did this not change when we had an election a year and a half ago? Surely the mangers political party is either no longer in power or wasn't in power for the first 2 and a half years.
Nothing will change over here. The world will move on to whatever comes after solar and we will still be talking about this amazing thing called solar, whilst experiencing power cuts with BPL. There is no political will to do the changes necessary as they are either scared of what the outcome of these changes will be or they can't see how to monetise these changes for themselves. Watch whoever is in charge of BPL after the next election will talk a good talk about solar power and yet in reality nothing will happen.
Newly built roads now have the utilities to the side so the road doesn't have to be torn up to fix. Unfortunately Bernard Road is an old road and was built when these were put under the road. it will cost the Government too much to change that (and take a lot longer then 21 days). As for doing it at night, easy to say if you don't live there, however those that live there will not be getting much sleep. This is why Bay Street was done at night as no one lives there. As always once its done everyone will be happy the road was paved. If done correctly with proper road management it shouldn't mean too much additional time to travel except during the hours of 9.30am to 2pm.

Agreed, if people say the 45mins is too far to drive then i expect an airport out by Yamacraw first as it can take at least 45 mins to get to NAD.
