What was the subsidies that Wynn wanted? As it may have been too much for the Government to accept. Or should they accept it no matter what, just to get open?
So in effect you make those who come here legally, pay for those who come illegally. Whilst i don't have a problem with increasing it, the reason behind it is laughable.
Sounds good, hopefully it will lead to more companies moving down. If it is true that they are looking at having 30 ex-pats that probably means a major office so there should be a lot of jobs for Bahamians as well. Included in that will be the 30 homes they will need and all other items which they will spend money on.
Don't worry south eleuthera will soon be back to thriving again. And those same people who made sure of the collapse in the 70s and 80s will be the ones to benefit this time.
Third one is to make sure all utilities are not under the road. If i remember correctly one of the major reasons for the time it took Jose to do the roads is because all the utilities were upgraded at the same time and moved to the side of the roads for easier and less intrusive access.
Ha ha apparently Bahamians can't think for themselves and are being forced to take these mortgages out against their will. Everyone knows that if you take out a mortgage you must pay it back along with the interest owed on it. Too many do not, as a number of people get homes that are out of their price ranges once all the expense's with owning a home are taken into account (Insurance, real property, repairs, BEC etc etc), and then are unable to make the payments. This is not the banks fault, nor is it the banks fault if people hit hard times and are unable to pay due to unemployment etc. They are not charties. Hopefully with a credit bureau the cost of borrowing will go down as those who do pay what they owe are not also having to pay for those who don't pay. At the end of the day the bank must make a profit or it wouldn't be in the business it is in.
Just have the police linked into the insurance companies. This way if a police officer runs a plate and it comes back uninsured they take the car. Same as if the driver is unlicensed. The owner will then have 30 days to provide evidence that the car or driver is licensed, if not it is either sold or crushed. Also have that a person is unable to cancel his car insurance unless they can provide evidence of the car being sold or other insurance being taken out. If enforced it shouldn't take too long to bring compliance up to 90+%. Though as it needs to be enforced doubt it will happen, easier to continue to make it more expensive for us schmucks who abide by the system.
AIn't nothing happen quickly over here. They have talked about this plant for 20 years and now finally approved Shell. Now they will need to work out how to get their cut of the construction and then it will proceed.
And who comes after? And will they want to rule with an iron fist or what we have now. As a Bahamian what we have now is not that bad, would rather this then the unknown.

If they are not agreeing to the terms of the HOA then stop work until they adhere to them. Why is it that we never enforce anything in this country.
