Full agreement. Also you can't change the past, only learn from it. If you erase all evidence of what happened before you will have nothing to learn from.
And every adult knows that people have to bring in taxes and fees to pay for things as they don't come out of thin air. And sometimes people have to pay extra as the people who came before didn't pay their way.
If you want to, why don't you offer to pay this increased cost for everyone. Or as normal do you just expect the money to grow on trees and yet complain when taxes go up (well complain as long as your party is not in power, then its the best news ever).
If they are not needed then this should be done. I am sick of paying over and above what i should for crap service. I understand it is not good for the person being let go, but the company must be able to stand on two legs and not charge an arm and a leg for it. I take it that people who have a problem with these people being let go, never complain about the high cost of electricity and also will not complain when Government raises taxes to continue to have these entities operate at the loss they do. If Government wanted to it could have full employment, of course it would then need to increase taxes to about 75% (figure pulled from thin air) of what the private sector make (private sector as they are the ones paying for the public sector to continue to make these losses).
Why not hold the person who is doing all those things responsible. We don't hold the Motor Dealers responsible if someone crashes a car, so we shouldn't hold BTC or ALIV responsible for what people do online. Unless you want us to be like Cuba where you are only allowed to do and say what they want (as a note you wouldn't be able to comment on here if we did).
So make it a law that all companies must be owned X % by a Bahamian. This is not against WTO, the WTO just says you can't increase duties on a product to protect a domestic exporter.
So check the HOA and see if this is allowed. IF not then they must hire 70%. If it is allowed per HOA then this is all a big do about nothing. Just enforce what the HOA says either way. Yet again why do we make things so hard for ourselves.
