Exuma is joining the long list of islands that will soon be beyond reach of most Bahamians. But hey at least we got those 100 jobs. Islands further south will be next
A quick search shows that the population of Freeport before the agreement was 200 people. Within 10 years it was around 7,000 and is now around 26,000. This is all because of the GBPA. in addition they have good roads and infrastructure with electricity that works a lot better then Nassau and at a fraction of the cost. There is much that is wrong with the GBPA but to pretend things would be better if the Government ran it is farcical. Just look at all the other islands with 200 people in 1954 and how far they have come now.
How has this man been given a talk show. He has no idea what is going on. He just speaks for the few crumbs he is given from the party. To say that crime is not out of control, when every store now has a security guard, when homes must have bars, when anyone with money is trying tog et to safety of a gated community is ludicrous. And then to say it is only gang members shooting each other so it is OK, though "**Sadly there is often some collateral damage or injuries.* is silly. This is why we are worried. The fact that he blames everyone except people who had control of the country for all this time is also silly.
Well done to all the PLP and FNM government's since NIB was started. You've managed to bankrupt an institution which should easily be awash with money. In doing so you have managed to enrich plenty of your contacts but that's about it. Now you decide that the Bahamian people should pay more to ensure you can continue with your largess on their money. Pathetic and useless is how you all should be described.
