Umm in 1948 when Israel declared its independence they were attacked by the Arab league. The Arab league assumed they would easily win and then there would be no Israel. Now Israel assumes they will win and there will be no Palestine. This is on both of them as since then neither wanted a two state solution

Lol the old "hey the fees were going to be more then they now are" routine. Worked with VAT (15% but then 7.5%) so they use it every time. Anyway at least more people can see that Government has failed and needs the private sector to do everything for it. Only issue is that Government is the same size or growing and takes more money to do nothing.

Dawes says...

he who pays the bill will always want to have a say in how it is run. Just a quick look and the US contributes over 22% of the money paid to the UN. If it is 1 nation 1 vote then each should contribute the same (not going to happen).

Dawes says...

Just add a 25.8% tax on top of the departure tax on all ships entering Bahamian waters that were built in France or Netherlands. They have obviously decided that they want to finish our Financial industry no matter what, and this is one of the few things we can do that will affect a sector in their country.

Dawes says...

OK we've been hearing about this for a while, when will this begin?

Dawes says...

Why set yourself up for failure? Nothing is tamper proof. There is always a way. Might be a lot harder, but not tamper proof

Ahh good old birdie, always justifying doing wrong by saying the other side did wrong too. Congrats on ensuring Bahamas continues its decline.

Dawes says...

Fully agree. And expect that Ease of doing business ranking to decrease even more with this ludicrous Business license regime.

Exuma is joining the long list of islands that will soon be beyond reach of most Bahamians. But hey at least we got those 100 jobs. Islands further south will be next

On What is going on in Exuma Cays?

A quick search shows that the population of Freeport before the agreement was 200 people. Within 10 years it was around 7,000 and is now around 26,000. This is all because of the GBPA. in addition they have good roads and infrastructure with electricity that works a lot better then Nassau and at a fraction of the cost. There is much that is wrong with the GBPA but to pretend things would be better if the Government ran it is farcical. Just look at all the other islands with 200 people in 1954 and how far they have come now.

On GBPA has not made GB better
