Make sure trials occur in a timely manner and you won't have this issue. Of course this would affect the amount of money lawyers make and as most politicians are lawyers this is a no no. Better to make sure people think you are trying to do something and do nothing then affect your revenue.

So does the rest of the country and probably more, Glad you realized we need an exorcist for the whole country.

Thankyou to the letter writer for explaining that it is not that easy to just say death penalty. We do have the death penalty but are very reluctant to even have someone who is convicted to have this as their sentence. We can blame the privy council all we want, but they have left it in the hands of our leaders to change the law if deemed necessary. As they have not done so, says to me that they do not want it.

Watch you be the first to say how greedy they are when they put the price of fish up for Good Friday, whilst conveniently forgetting your beloved PLP are one of the main reasons for the increase.

Problem is no one will complain and government knows it. This is easy pickings for them. And for LaRoda to say its due to no increases in 20 years shows how out of touch Government is. No ones salary during that time went up by that much, minimum wage went from $100 odd to $250, not over $1,000 which would be inline with this. But then again he is just another person that will say what is needed in order for more money to be given to Government. At least Government will still be able to say no new taxes, just plenty increases on those that were there. And then in a few months as all the additional costs trickle down and the cost of living goes up even more, they can blame the merchants and say they are being greedy, as they put no new taxes on people.

LOL the idea that things were all great pre Hubert Ingram is laughable. There were serious issues then as now. As always i notice that it is easy for government's to say what other Governments did that was wrong, and yet they (who have the power to) never implement any charges to go back to how it was. Which i therefore take as meaning they have no intention of changing how things are, rather they like to say what the plebs want to hear and then do nothing. The plebs are happy (as can be told by this letter writer) and the Government can continue as is, knowing that in a couple of months they will only need to say some more words that will keep people quiet (maybe about foreigners, or gays or the bay street merchants).

Why is the answer to lock people up before they have been found guilty. What we must do is make sure the court system moves much quicker. It is wrong to have people in prison for years waiting on a court case. If we could speed that up so that when people are charged they have their court case within 2-3 months the whole idea of bail becomes a moot point.

Dawes says...

Strange that everyone seems against it. Many countries in the world try this process to reduce crime, even our Neighbour to the North the US. If it works then great, if not what have you lost? You do this behind closed doors not in the open. But yup lets continue as is and see if that helps.

Based on this can it not be said that Auditors don't have experience running business and yet inland revenue is trusting them to give them the correct figure. Showing it is a waste of money and time?
