And just like the boaters, Bahamians can chose not to pay the visa and not go (well they can still go on police certificate). However at a guess if 50% of boaters don't come here, and 50% of Bahamians don't get Visas, we will be more affected.
They should also allow anyone to open up a gaming location. It is wrong that only 8 companies can operate and then use those funds to compete against all other companies.
Of two minds on this. On the one hand change happens, and maybe there should be a limit of time that these covenants can be applied. On the other hand i have to ask if the buyers weren't aware of these covenants when they purchased? Would the property have been sold for more if there were no covenants? If they would have been sold for more, then maybe they should give the development company the difference?
They are working to draft a new law which will be the same as others on the books, but makes it look as though they are doing something. Then once passed no one will follow it. Until the next accident and so on.

Theres plenty homes on the market, off you go and buy. Or is that just talk from you. And yes every country can make their own laws and fees. But if they make them too high people don't visit so you don't make as much. Lets see how this plays out. If they still come, then great we have made more and people are still employed. If not we have lost money and all the people involved in that industry (it si thousands) are about to have a much harder life. Where is the studies to show that this price won't cause a drop in visitors? There is none as they didn't do one. They just picked a number and are hoping.
Thankyou, I was going to say the same thing. Nothing has changed even with all the promises. Every Spring they say they are ready for summer, then load shedding. Always an excuse but never a solution.
It just sounded good so Darville went with it. Just like saying whilst the funds go into the consolidated fund it will be reinvested in upgrading the public health system. That can't be as once in the consolidated fund you have no idea what it will be spent on.
Can't understand why it is hard to believe. This is Government. They never consult with anyone on anything. I think they work out how much revenue they want and decide the fee will therefore need to be X amount. They won't take into account any potential growth or decrease which may affect the price, and then wonder why in 6 months their figures are wrong and they need to change what they are charging. Then they don't even take into account the loss in reputation.
If Minnis were leader of the FNM, there are people in Marathon who won't vote FNM. He lost the general election then lost the FNM leadership and now all of a sudden has the answers. Due to the way he has handled not being the leader (after resigning and then losing a vote), FNM should ditch him. This will most probably mean a PLP will win Killarney, but the issues Minnis brings if allowed to run for FNM is too much. He had 2,501 votes in 2021 against 4,186 in 2017, so many in Killarney did not want him
