If you don't let people know the amount, i can only assume it is a significant amount. Like everything i hear from people who do business with Government, they are not paying their bills. i assume they are broke and don't want to admit it.
They won't be. The Government knows it can do what it wants, and these people have made sure they can get what they want. Thats why i laugh when the PM goes on about the environment. This is the least Environmentally friendly government in my lifetime.
Who would the goods be for? I assume they would ultimately go to the US so why come here?. The fact is we are insignificant in the great scheme of things. There are ships that can carry over 24,000 containers in one go, per the port we brought in just over 65,000 containers in 2019, so 3 ships and we are done.
yes as the rest of The Bahamas is flourishing unlike Freeport. The roads in West End are paved and with no pot holes because our government does such an amazing job.
This can't be our government that doesn't care about the environment. Every time he is out of country (so most days) the PM is bashing the world about people having to do right by the environment. There is no way he would therefore have a government that does not care about the environment. Not in Exuma, Or on NP where every other day whole areas of Forest are being bulldozed down with no impact done. Nope No way the PM would allow any of this.
Whilst cost of food is an issue (though as some have pointed out above there are options). One of the biggest issues is the lack of well lit and secure areas to get exercise on. All the locations are badly lit and unsecure so people leave once it gets dark. If we could make it safe to be in the parks more people would exercise which would hopefully flow through our healt.h
Government can promise all they want for things to move fast and work. but they know they never will. The only way for that to happen is to stop the rampant corruption at every level , and there is no incentive for those that can stop it to do that.
The money for the fire trucks was probably spent on the west end election and sending all those Government members there. Or it could also have been on sending the team to see Trump get inaugurated. I mean what else are our taxes for, if not for those amazing elected officials and their friends to prance around like royalty.
Normally that is the case with Capital spend. However, if due to this they aren't using the people used for the Abaco Hurricane Shelter, or RM Bailey or many other examples then this might actually be good news for Bahamas.
