Of course they would say that. The fact is Minnis did not help himself. He was thrown out by the Bahamian people, instead of helping FNM rebuild he has spent the whole time trying to take back the FNM and undermine Pintard. One of them had to go. I know plenty of die hard FNMs who have said they will not vote FNM if Minnis was the leader again, and there is probably more then those in the article above.
Challenges only exist because we don't enforce any laws. Once enforced there won't be challenges, but as long as nothing is enforced (either through laziness or bribery) there will be no change.
So a bond of $100 million, $32.5 million raised from private equity and total spend is $136 million. What exactly is Verdant doing for the 37.5%? I assume the Turkish company is the knowledge in solar etc to get it going, but Verdant? Nice earner for some, especially if you don't have to put any money up
Ahh well done Inland Revenue and government. You have a law that makes doing business even harder, and instead of admitting that it is a silly law you double down. Congrats on being a part of the problems in Bahamas. Why anyone, who could chose elsewhere, would open a business here is beyond me.
March 22nd wouldn't work as that could be Easter which already is a holiday. PLP need to remind people about majority rule and independence and make them think PLP did this (not the Bahamian people who voted), as they hope people would then forget all the terrible decisions they have made (and a lot of them recent). If we are going to have a holiday make it at a period when there aren't many holidays and you can call it PLP day. Hell maybe make it the fourth Thursday in November as most of us already celebrate that day (or the Monday after Superbowl would be great too).
Maybe, just maybe, having the police enforce the traffic laws will make people drive with more sense. Every day i see Mutiple cars run red lights, make 3rd lanes. speed and much more, however i have never seen a police car pull anyone over in the last 4 years at least.
I fully agree that the Bahamas should make its own decisions and do what it thinks is best for it. Therefore i also see no wrong with what the US is doing (even if i disagree with a lot of what they are doing). They are not telling us to not have the Cubans, they are just saying if you do, the leaders (not all Bahamians) may have their visas revoked. So basically up to us whether we want to use Cubans.
