Thats right, Move West bay Street off the seaside. Then we can sell that land to foreigners so we can't see the sea. Also on the idea of a footbridge, sounds great until you realize that people won't use it and there will be no consequences by law.. So no point in wasting that money.
Can the tribune check where large taxpayers have 3-7 days to file and pay. A quick look online showed that the UK and Europe is over a month after, Trinidad is 25th day and Barbados is 21 days. So where is the countries that have to file in 3-7 days. Also there is no way the Government will be able to make all the large companies have an audit by March 31st with the number of auditors we have here. We will need to import a lot more to do that. It is very scary that the secretary responsible for Finance says stuff like "I think people make these statements generally, but this is the 21st century Bahamas not the 20th century. We have quite a few auditors and audit firms." when he obviously does not understand what it entails.
What has the PM done to help climate change in The Bahamas? Where is the recycling? Where is the solar incentives? Where is the protection of the environment. All i see are more developments, more hills being cut down, more trees being bulldozed over. He talks a good talk but does nothing to make a change, expecting others to not only do the change, but also pay him at the same time.
Is Mr Bell saying that prior to this port Government were earning $578 million every five years on the port and was still not able to do anything with it.? OR is he saying it took a private company to come in and show Government how to run the port? Are we making more from the port now then we were before or less? If more and we have a new port at no cost to us then seems like a win, if less then its a bad deal. Finally why is the Minister of Immigration talking about this during his allotted time and not immigration issues?
So i assume you will be anti PLP with all their PPP's they are going to do on the airport? Or is that OK. Yes i am sure some of those families you talk about bought into the port, but so did thousands of other Bahamians who never could before, and it is those that you don't want to have shares.
