I'm stunned at some of these comments. So-called Christians at that!
Where is your empathy? Your compassion? My God talks about that -- yours apparently doesn't.
This man must be in serious emotional pain to have done something so drastic. And now he is suffering tremendous physical pain - and may not make it, depending on the extent of his injuries. This is someone's son, someone's brother, and someone's friend. He didn't shoot anyone, he didn't hurt his girlfriend, he didn't harm anyone but himself. Can we not be a little kinder and not so quick to judge?
I'm disgusted with some of these comments - especially those who call themselves Christians.
As much as I'm not a fan of Mr. Darville, I agree with him on this one. Oban offers the Bahamas nothing, but a polluted and toxic waste dump. Have a look a the refinery in St. Croix and see the track record there. Hundreds of millions in clean-up costs -- and guess who has to pay for it!?! (Hint - not the offenders) Do we want this for the Bahamas for a few jobs?
Nothing to do with the bfa -- wada states that when tests are missed, it can be treated as if it were an adverse analytical finding. If Higgs didn't want to be suspended, then he should have been available to take the drug test. It's as simple as that.
With so many needing jobs in the Bahamas, BTC had to outsource this? How many jobs are we talking about that have left to some "foreign" country? Where is our government on this? Time to get Aliv!
Because if an environmental assessment had been done, there would be no HOA signed. There's no way an oil refinery in East Grand Bahamas can be good for the environment. The only question here is how much money we need to have to look the other way.
Fired for telling the truth -- only because a white foreigner dared to do so! So our National Average of D has changed? Typical denial. Wait until the Bahamas joins the WTO -- what a rude awakening for so many who are going to get left behind because they cannot compete on the world stage. Pathetic, RBC.
And while we're on this, RBC, quit advertising in the papers on how you want to build communities and provide excellent customer service. Let's talk about Long Island and no bank there -- this is not building communities. And let's discuss your horrible customer service. In fact, it's as if you don't even want people to actually come inside the bank anymore.
Dr. Minnis, what happened to that big pledge of yours about any misbehaviour by any of your MPs and they'd be fired immediately? Your allowing Mrs. Emmanuel to continue after a half-assed and not very genuine apology only appears that you condone violence against women. This is unacceptable!
This is the second boating mishap this guy has had. Both times it was because of his own lack of boat handling skills and common sense. None of this had to happen if he'd followed some basic rules. Just because you buy a boat doesn't mean you know how to operate it! And he's a life guard? Haha, wouldn't want him trying to save me when he hasn't got sense enough to keep himself out of trouble.
I have no idea why people are saying he has good survival skills. He did nearly everything wrong, and was just amazingly lucky he was found.
MP Miriam Emmanuel should resign for her idiotic remarks. There must be ZERO tolerance for violence against women. Actually, zero tolerance against violence, period. With such archaic and ignorant thinking, she is hardly fit to be be a leader in government.

Seriously, FNM, this is the best we can do? At this rate ya'll do better sending Fred Mitchell around the world to drum up business.
