These Chinese workers surely have work permits. If so, they fall under the Bahamas labour laws. Where is Shane Gibson in this? If the people have not be paid, then pay them, It's pretty damn simple.
Absolutely not! This just brings back memories of a Pindling government from the days of a drug dealing "nation for sale" -- do we want this as our legacy now?
It speaks very badly for us if this is the best candidate we could put forward as our new Governor General. Shame on the government for making fools out of all of us in front of the whole world. It's beyond embarassing.
Rahming was a victim of his OWN low standards. No one else to blame -- except maybe the idiots who thought he'd make a good representative for the Bahamas.
Let's not forget, Tal, it was a white knight UBP who welcomed Mrs. Pindling Sands into his law firm, so let's not go there with the downtrodden over the hill crap. Yes, Mrs. Pindling Sands earned it and is a good attorney, so maybe it's about that and not entitlement. Some conveniently distort history for their own purposes.
I wonder how much the big welcoming gala will cost the Bahamian people as another Pindling is installed. Ugh! I know the Government House staff are miserable at the prospect of their new tenant, as she is said to treat staff badly. Shame that this is apparently the best we can come up with to repesent our country.
"public-private" ??? Are you kidding? We've seen how the government runs things. BEC needs to be 100% private and run as a real business and not a slush fund for crooks.
And as for Mr. Miller whining about how his family got drug into this -- it was HIS daughter who posted to Facebook. If she wants to stay out of the limelight, then she should have kept her thoughts to herself and stayed in the shadows (which there are lots of when all you have are candles for light)
Wishing we lived in Japan -- then Miller would do the honourable thing and fall on his sword. Easy way to deal with it, as clearly Christie doesn't have the balls to fire this clown. But then again, if we lived in Japan, none of this crap would be happening. Welcome to the new banana republic with a fourth world mentality. .
