My understanding is that the land will be sold, hence Bahamians owning 49%. Seems much better than the 150 year lease with only peanuts annual fee Minnis had negotiated. PLP deserve credit on this one. Should be a share offering offered to all Bahamians and filled from the bottom up.

49% will be owned by Bahamians, what does Mr. Darville expect?

We have a failed judicial system in the Bahamas. Everyone knows this particularly the family of murder victims. So street justice rectifies this problem and exacts justice in a final brutal way. It’s not perfect but it probably prevents a great many murders too. It may even be a net benefit for society, removing hardened killers from the street when the court refuses to do so.

Very easy problem to fix, fund the extra costs in repatriation by cutting the recently massively increased budget for government travel.

All he talks about is increasing income, what about reducing expenses? Let all employees of NIB take a 10% salary reduction, management 20%. Reduce and eliminate all these consultants, many political appointees drawing high salaries. In the Bahamas 23% of NIB contributions go to run the fund, in Jamaica it is 6% and Barbados 3%. Stop wasting our pension money and cut the fat instead of asking poor Bahamians to pay more!

I hear a lot of equivocation and dubious justification for what is a very bad projection miss. As a shareholder I am not happy, not happy at all with this massive miss. How can Mr. Bowe be off 20% from a projection that mid year he affirmed and assured shareholders was still on track for $25 million? Perhaps if he spent more time on the affairs of Fidelity instead of every other day opining about everything under the sun in the media Fidelity would have met projections. And not a breath about the share split he assured shareholders would take place last year. Not a word. He is rapidly losing credibility.

I don’t believe or support 5% of what Lincoln Bain believes in but I am very grateful for him. He is offering a tremendous service to the nation by challenging the status quo and trying to hold the government accountable to the people.

Man this is rough. These are humans. I hope government assists these persons in finding shelter and treats them with the dignity they deserve.

Who are we trying to fool? If the government controls over 80% of the shares and appoints the board no external controls can prevent government interference again. Lift this moratorium and the potcake will be back at it again and BOB will be in another crisis.
