@tribanon "**Make no mistake about it, participating as it did in this most costly Dubai event was a disgracefully cruel act committed by the Davis-led PLP administration against the interests of the vast majority of suffering Bahamians.**" Very well said! There is nothing "New" about this Day's government...absolutely nothing!

DontAssume says...

@birdiestrachan, may I ask, "why don't you and the other politically-aligned agents and propagandists, of this "New Day Government Leadership", love your Bahamian sisters and brothers?" It is obvious that your politically-aligned condescending diatribe directed towards "The Editorial" page is the political tactics of deflection. Another question, "Do you and your colleagues, believe that all Bahamians have their eyes closed and head turned?"

We all realize what's transpiring, and it's not Productivity! It's the same political grifting, nepotism, conflict-of-interest, unnecessary expenditure, deflection, recrimination, and wild gesticulations - just another term of pathetic and disgraceful governance.

This administration did not get off to a promising start. There are many horrible characters disguised as individuals that have this country's best interest as a priority, but all of it is self-interest. The deflection-purposed reporting and continual politicizing of every facet of our society are ridiculous. The three-month spending is outrageous (entourage-laden trips all over the world that seem more like bucket list voyages), and conflict of interest appointments are not improving the way of life in this country.

He should be a "nail in the coffin" for politicians in this country. I appreciate that he alluded to the fact of how business is conducted by these politicians. They all have investments (directly and indirectly) in companies that are awarded contracts. Some are guilty of affording contracts to individuals and being given some "traditional" 10% of that contract. Bahamians go to the polls every election season, and vote for their interest and not that of this country.

*So, I can care less about all the conjecture surrounding what "Tom" does when "Jerry" is doing the exact same. All should be held accountable

Minnis and most if not all of the FNM party needed to be shown the error of their ways. But, "while we look to the new leadership to guide this country", this statement right here is a joke. The word leadership is used so loosely, there is no such word regarding Bahamian politics, the past 20 plus years. Changing a filthy underwear with a filthy underwear will never solve our issues. But, we never align ourselves with candidates possessing a shred of integrity...just ones that want to shake, and break the proverbial cookie jar.

@ThisisOurs, they start laughing hysterically

DontAssume says...

@ThisisOurs, exactly!!! Hence, the timing is just nonsensical

DontAssume says...

@themessenger, I understand the argument, but our number one priority is opening for tourism dollars--that alone is the purpose. Those individuals entering our country, most are not vaccinated; so, containing the virus will forever be a fluid endeavor.

DontAssume says...

@themessenger, no I do not expect any better...to be honest with you; I'm in total agreement that we've been living the lesser of two evils, and fighting for everything--not just flour. The segregation that I refer to, is the fact that unvaccinated individuals should not be treated as if they don't have rights--that's not something any government should do. As for trespassing...that's an issue within itself (private property is private property), if you're not a member of a private community, you have not rights there.

DontAssume says...

@themessenger and other individuals who see no issue with infringing on an individual's rights in their private domicile. The issue at hand is not our reality (over burdened healthcare system); the issue is the overall handling of the pandemic, and disguised tactics for mandatory vaccinations. I don't care for, nor partake in gatherings...safe and sanitary procedures are more important to me. If an individual decides to be vaccinated or not, it's his or her choice; furthermore this delta variant is posing infection issues for the vaccinated as well as unvaccinated (so there should be no gathering exception). If individuals would adhere to the restrictions and protocols, along with following sanitary guidelines so much would be different. But, if this administration wants to continue with their poor governance, which Bahamians have experienced over the past 4 plus years, and many previously successive 5-year periods...continue to push this segregationist effort.
