**If** the Government lowered the duty to 27.5% they would get much more revenue and help the man in the street at the same time.
If he can't afford a car it is much more difficult to get a job as it is tougher to get to work on time or at all. Then that person needs social services to help because they are out of work. Add that number to the Car dealer employees who will soon be out of work.
In case no body noticed URCA is not an independent body either. Read the ACT also note that since 2013 any extra cash has to go to the Public Treasury not in URCA's own account. If URCA needs any extra cash it has to go hat in hand to the Government.
Also look at how the members are selected. It is controlled by the government.

Any outsider can see that the Government has acted in bad faith, That is why other islands are getting the investment and we are not.
The Governments behavior makes it clear to foreign investors that they cannot trust the Government to act responsibly.
