Economist says...

Minister, you are well aware that we can't afford NHI for two main reasons.
1. Because of the corrupt Hospital Authority (loss of $100 million plus a year.
2. Overweight and obese Bahamians who as result of their bad eating habits and lack of exercise get high blood pressure, stress, heart attacks , strokes, cancer, diabetes etc. that no country can afford.

Be honest man, be a real man and tell the people the truth.

Economist says...

Dr. Minnis you had the power to effect a Freedom of Information Act when you were in power. You don't have the information because you failed to do you job 5 yrears ago when you were in power.

Why should I think that you will do anything more if you lead the FNM in 2017?

Economist says...

Mr. Wells, contribute one million dollars to the FNM, no strings attached, and then you can talk.

Not interested what you may have given in the past. Do it now.

Economist says...

Sad but true.

Economist says...

Thank you Mr. Forbes for speaking out.
The only way things will change in our country is if Bahamians stand up and speak out.

Makes sense.

Economist says...

And let us not forget the $100 million that goes missing out of the $00 million spent on health.

Bahamasair. Something does not smell right.

How does an airline that is over $500 million in the red borrow $100 million for new aircraft? May be a Government guarantee which means another $100 million to add to the national debt.

Economist says...

When the only argument a person can find is to say he is not for intelligent and more wealthy people means that he has no plan because they will see through it.

He will rely on the grade"D's" to vote him in because they won't ask any questions and don't know enough to query anything.

Now there is a nation builder for you.

Economist says...

" I’ve said, over and repeatedly, that no foreign direct investment (FDI) is coming at this time because they don’t want to deal with this government."

Mr. McCartney is correct.

No legitimate FDI, that is for sure. Proper bidding, good transparency laws and the practice of transparency and The Bahamas would have some very good FDI, not to mention less unemployment.
