It should also be noted that they won't be able to have open market access without the free movement of labour.
HSBC has already announced that they expect to move 1,000 jobs out of the UK to the EU.
Automotive manufactures will, no doubt put any further investment on hold as they may wish to put any new production in EU countries and not in the UK.
British Airways owner, who also control Iberia (Spain's former national airline) and AerLingus (Ireland's former national airline) has said that it will probably move both personal and aircraft out of the UK. The effect will be office, engineering etc. jobs lost in the UK.
The question is not if any, but how many, Brits will lose their jobs over the next 5 years.
Britain is expected now to go into recession rather than continued growth.
Many of the "Leave" voters voted with emotion rather than with their heads. A lesson for us all.
Perhaps the most significant cost will be to the servicing of the UK National debt (take note Bahamas). The UK suffered an immediate downgrade by the International Rating Agencies. The result is the cost of borrowing increases.
It is reported that the additional cost of servicing the National Debt will exceed the current contributions to the EU.
The middle class, educated and the young, who voted to remain, will now have to pay for the actions of the labour class who think the world owes them a living and the elderly (you had to be over 45 to be with the majority of voter for Leave) who have dreams of a British Empire, now long gone.
**"All I want now is to help and if possible to guide the people of this country to see that for the last forty years or so they were hoodwinked and led to vote for leaders who may be good talkers and politicians but were failures in governance, business and otherwise."**
Rather than getting into this childish "tit for tat", please use your wisdom to explain how we can change our work ethic and better our education system and clean up corruption.
**We need wise words as to fixing the economic and social fabric of this country.**
You are in a position to guide us, the people, and to influence the platforms of all the political parties to do what is best for us regardless of who the leaders may be.
**Who leads the FNM should be of no consequence to you.**
"The Centreville MP, who was speaking at the opening of the Inter-American Development Bank’s joint national development plan seminar, said the only way to improve the Bahamas’ current position would be through true self-analysis in the public and private sector."
He said that to please the IDB. He needs them to think he is doing something to help the economy. They are probably paying for the work done on this.
This was to be expected. The Government had been subsidizing LPIA for years; no one was accountable,it was poorly run and had fallen into disrepair.
The new managers have done a good job in upgrades, many of which should have been done with the money poured into it by past governments.
LPIA can't go to government anymore and it has to stand alone financially. We will all now have to pay for the waste of the last 40 years.
Many complained that Freeport Airport was too expensive, but it was not getting any money from government. Now we will see how the two airports really compare in cost to users.

Actually Minnis has forced the dinner.
If he had been performing as a viable Leader of the Opposition, this dinner would never have arisen.

Deddie, if Minnis remains leader the party gets no money for the election campaign. No money means PLP wins.

The realists are making the point to Minnis. He has been and is not able to get the confidence of those who make political contributions.
If they had confidence in Minnis, the party would have no problem funding the convention.
For whatever reason, after over two years as Leader of the Opposition, Minnis has not gained the confidence of those who matter. It is that simple.
