14(1) relates more to a woman having a child, outside The Bahamas, to a foreign man in circumstances where they are not married.
This is where our **Constitution rewards a Bahamian woman for having a child out of wedlock** as it gives the child automatic Bahamian citizenship and **punishes a Bahamian woman for having a child in marriage as the child is considered a foreigner** and may apply at 18.
This would be corrected if we vote "yes" to Bill 1 so that a married Bahamian woman's child would also get automatic Bahamian Citizenship.
We are talking about a person who knows of no other country as home except The Bahamas, feels that she is Bahamian, her dad is Bahamian. why on God's earth would we not want her to have her citizenship?
Instead we are telling her she is not one of us, she is a foreigner, she is different, she is not as good as the others that she grew up with.
What a bunch of small minded, scared, ignorant bigots.
Why is government paying for anything in relation to Carnival? They paid out the money last year to get it going.
It should be self funding this year. Where are the sponsors? When the Bahama Games were done, may years ago, there were sponsors like IBM and Aquapure and others who funded the games.
Who is paying for the TV rights etc.?
Must stop all these armatures being involved with these things. This is why the Country is going broke.
If we had registered land the cost of purchasing land or a house would be greatly reduced for Bahamians. You could also do a closing in a matter of days.
Stop being such a bigot. You sound like one of those hick white "red necks" in the US who think all black people are stupid and they should stay at the back of the bus.

This is the Report is just the first step in the process. We have to have the "where we are" starting point.
As I understand it, the next step is to discuss on how to fix it and then the plan to 2040.

Read Article 54. Especially Article 54(b)' Article 54(d)(I) and Article 54(d)(ii).
**The Government cannot amend any of the Articles, affected by the Referendum, on its own**.
This is not like the Numbers.
