You are leaving out the interest paid on the $750+ million debt that Bahamasair carries. At say 5% that is a lot of money. Then add that total to the $25 million losses (not 20).
With the country suffering financially and the Health services strapped for cash there is no other alturnative than to shut Bahamasair down.
Tal ,at least the airlines (British Airway, Iberia, Ryan Air, Lufthansa, Air France, United, American) that you refer to, in the other countries, were not big money losers. The ones like Bahamasair (South African for example) have either been shut down or are in the process of being shut down.
That is because the Government did and still has not required regular and mass testing. You can greatly reduce the spread by testing. That is why football teams and Universitys in the US are now testing, tracing and islolating. Other countries are testing their front line staff on a weekly and, sometimes more often, basis.
This has been reported by BBC, CBC, and several other international organizions which, togetherwith abc, cbs, nbc, cnn and MSNBC Trump says are fake news soooo this is all just fake news.
Trump must be fine. So why are you all commenting on fake news?
we need to be able to test significantly more. Early on (April) The Bahamas had the opportunity to purchase (at cost) 45,000 tests from Cayman. They had 100,000 for sale as they had purchased 200,000 from South Korea of the "gold standard" tests.
Bermuda bought 35,000 and Barbados purchased 20,000. The Bahamas, under the direction of Dr Dahl Regis, decided that they were too expensive.
You can fly from Cayman, Bermuda and Barbados to Europe and not have to quarantine but if you fly from The Bahams you must quarantine.
Today Barbados has 7 active cases, Bermuda 4 and Cayman 1.
Wonder where the Europeans are going for their vacation? Not The Bahamas for sure.

Congratulations Mr. Sands. You and your crew deserve a great deal of praise. You have managed to do all of this through a pandemic as well.
Those in the GBPA could learn a thing or two from you.
Great job!
Looking forward to an ice cold Sands.
