Yep! The majority of Bahamians deserve this government. It's gonna be the same ignorant bunch who jump up n down all over the streets during election, who will be hit he hardest.
@Girly-Well said! I agree 100% Where were these people when that rogue individual threatened Bahamians. They started the war and expect for Bahamians to stand by idly and say nothing??? The devil is a liar!
Lol...birdie you are something else. But listen, talking about doing something and bringing it to fruition are two entirely different things. National Insurance and COB? Nothing innovative here. A government cannot get any bonus for doing what they are supposed to do. Now shifting policies to make the lives of Bahamians better is what makes a government stand out. Overall the FNM government has done a much better job of managing the affairs of this country. However, at this juncture, both the PLP and FNM are incapable of taking the Bahamas forward, out of the muck and mire.
@birdiestrachan-There is nothing good to write about the PLP. As a matter of fact, when the PLP accomplishes something good to write about will be the day the sky falls.
I didn't say 'buy back'. I said buy or acquire. You are right about Bahamar and the road cost issues, but such a move should really be looked at as a long term investment. This government is already wasting millions of dollars with no returns. I believe Freeport has the capacity to facilitate a modern communication system, with the latest technological tools along with the space to attract investors and Bahamian entrepreneurs to invest in that with city with good faith. Nassau already has a bad rep. Freeport also has the space and existing clubs and pubs to attract visitors and Bahamians alike which would eventually bring back that dazzling nightlife that Nassau was once famous for.
Installing cameras on buses is a great idea. The Bahamas also needs an independent board to investigate these claims so that all those who assert being abused are at least given the satisfaction that their claims are being taken seriously. This same board could also be used to look into reports of abuse by the police force and all of the other enforcement agencies. I am not talking about a board made up of 3 political unemployed cronies and a clergyman, but a real board made up of people who are knowledgeable about the constitutional laws of the Bahamas and UN the policies regarding human rights, with at least 2 foreign nationals. Notice I said human rights and not Haitian rights. Meaning all nationalities, including Bahamians. Even though I believe that nothing can be substantiated without proper prove or evidence, it is not good for Bahamians to be perceived as supporting this type of behavior.
