Excellent! I have a new level of respect for Pintard. His resignation is in the best interest of the party, indeed. Now the other petty politicians from that other party cannot use him as a distraction and as a deflection for their shady engagement in this whole matter. But the day any member of the PLP resigns, is the day that the KKK would welcome blacks into their organization. But whatever, the FNM would be a party again if only Minnis himself also resigns as leader.
Notice how all the MPs are hanging their heads in shame, thinking, "well gad damn. Look how Christie and Davis get us in this mess ay. Now how we gon keep a straight face wit we constituents dem when we start campaigning?"
Agreed! But unfortunately, we live in a country where things are not looked at rationally. Everything is done for political reasons. The church opposes it, so the government opposes it, because church=votes.

According to Einstein, insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. If the people and businesses that live and operate in this area choose to sit back and let whoever is responsible for the dumb kill them, then so be it. Talking about it is NOT resolving the issue. Simply take action and close the damn dump down. You paid money for your homes, you deserve to live a healthy life just like the crooked officials. I bet you this matter would have been resolved if any government official was being affected by it.
I have been following the Tribune from the time I was able to read. My parents were stern PLPs but they never once scolded me for voting FNM or speaking out against the ruthless PLP. As a matter of fact, my mother always encouraged me to register and vote. She used to tell me that I was an adult and can make up my own mind. At that time I was living in Shirlea and I remember Bradley Roberts, the PLP candidate for that constituency, visiting our house giving us gifts and lil spending money, just because we were one of the few black families in the area. It was the norm for black families to vote PLP in the mainly "white" Shirlea area. Even then I was smart enough to see thru his shallow and slick ways. Needless to say, I always voted for Pierre Depuch, who was the FNM candidate at that time.
Regarding my comments, by no means am i saying that bahamians are saints and that we are not responsible for the societal problems that exists! i had to put that in bold for those who need to be jolted in order to see a point. However, I have seen teenagers with Haitian parents, throw boulders in the street, broke bottles in the street, destroy public properties etc. This has happened in not just one incident, but we have seen it many, many times. Trust me, if you look in their eyes, you will see their anger and how they are ready to kill someone. Say what you want about generalizing, but this is congenital. These kids are angry at society for looking down at them and treating them as outcasts. They are looking for attention. So what should we do? Ignore their anger or talk about it and try to offer some solution that can help defuse this anger before it is unleashed on society. There is a time bomb ticking in the Haitian communities. Until the government and society deal with the issue of citizenship and illegal migrants, especially with regards to Haitians, we are gonna see a whole lot more bloody events that we are not used to. buckle up!
