@Tal-Please state the alternatives. The PLP is certainly not an effective government, the FNM is swishy, swashy. If the only problem you have with the DNA is that they need to elect a leader democratically then that's fine. But please do not assert that the PM should not accept a debate by a "non-elected party leader." Who do you think the prime minister is? God? The prime minister should be questioned and challenged by all and sundry, anytime, anywhere and at any cost. It is thinking like this that has the PLP where it is today, riding on a high horse not giving a dam about its employers, the Bahamian people. I believe that the DNA can be a great alternative once they hold a proper convention and iron out some kinks. After all, this party is the one that cost the FNM to lose the last general election. So be careful about what ya say. The hard truth is a lot of people are fed up with both major political parties.

This downsizing is not just happening in the Bahamas. Major corporations around the world are outsourcing, even those making exhorbintant profits. This is the age of technology, which means that a worker in the Bahamas is competing for the same job with a worker in India. So tell me which employee has the edge on holding on to their job? The Bahamian worker or the Indian worker? Everyone knows that answer to that question.

Bahamians will suffer the most as global businesses restructure. Unfortunately most Bahamians are holding on to that false hope that their jobs are secured forever because the late L.O, Pindling said so or they are a part of a union. This government in particular will always keep the average Bahamian worker in the dark regarding their status of employment. The PLP is good at feeding false hope to its ignorant voters, by telling them that all is well and that "we will take care of you no matter what." After all, it was the PLP that won the election based on the slogan "Putting Bahamians first."

When all as been said and done, this is a good thing for Bahamians. Sadly, the majority of Bahamians need a jolt of lighteneing to wake them up from their fantasy. Indeed, those who improve their skills and possess good work ethics will survive the storm.

Hold on, birdie soon sign in. You might even get an answer from Tal who tries to be impartial at times. But oh when whenever comparisions are made betweening past and present governing parties, Tal will side with the PLP quick and hurry.

Why are you even responding to this clown. His views will never change. Christ will come and go and Voltaire will still be holding firm to the idea that the mammoth illegal Haitian problem can be absorbed by the Bahamas socially and economically and that is final. The Bahamians are the donkeys and the Haitians are the riders. So after years and years of free rides you think the rider wanna be dumped? Absolutely not!

The lack of professionalism already portrayed by this woman is astounding! Obviously the United States ambassador nominee is basing her information about alleged human abuse issues on hearsay and not hard facts. Even the meeting between the Grand Bahama Human Rights Society and the Inter-American Human Rights Commission cannot be treated as gospel until the IAHRC does an in-depth investigation into what was brought before them. This investigation by the way, should examine the credibility of the loud mouth Fred Smith, as well as the alleged abuse of the Haitian community reported by Smith. But after watching the recordings, it was clear as daylight that their initial assessment of the entire issue was lopsided, with them favoring the GBHRS. In any event, no one should be surprised by Ms. Butt's prelude speech. Everyone knows that America is the most hypocritical country in the universe. They tell you do that and do this, while they do as they please.

No one voting for the defunct FNM either. Shouldn't you be inviting a fresh new team with people who really care for Bahamians to come to the forefront of politics, instead of trying to raise up the dead? I am afraid that these greasy hands politicians are all void of good ideas in regards to moving this country forward and restoring the lil bit of dignity we once had.

Oh man!...KML... That's not nice at all crazy general

This is depressing to hear. But where is the voice of the Bahamas Christian Council and the Grand Bahama Human Rights Association in all of this? I guess we need another gay ship to call on our port to hear from the BCC and reports of Haitians NOT given the royal treatment to hear from the gbhra. smh...It seems as though the elderly and children are the biggest targets for ill-treatment in the Bahamas. What a hypocritical society we live in.

Come now duppyVat. Let's not do the sexist thing here. There are tons of cougars who sleep with younger men in our society and then furnish them with money for their sexual favours. But we never see these cases brought to light because we live in a double standard society. Instead of saying say no-good men, I would think it is better to say no-good adults are taking advantage.
