Let's be unequivocally clear here:

The U.S. government has absolutely no position or standing whatsoever to tell the government of The Bahamas and the Bahamian people that the The Constitution of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas must be amended to allow for the right to obtain Bahamian citizenship to fully conform to the wishes of the U.S. government.

Can you imagine any situation in which our government would have the temerity, audacity and gall to tell the U.S. government who should or should not be allowed to obtain U.S. citizenship under the citizenship provisions of the U.S. Constitution???!!!

And this matter has nothing to do with Davis's absurd refusal to amend our statute law to specifically criminalise marital rape.

What's proposed here would result in the end of affordable electricity for many in the Bahamas, especially on the family islands. The relatively few wealthier individuals and businesses in our country today who would be forced to significantly subsidize the costs of providing electricity to everyone else would simply call it a day and leave the country.

These types of extortionist measures are fundamentally unconstitutional. No government has the right to shutdown or otherwise impede or interfere with the business activities of any private enterprise without first proving a lawful case for doing so under circumstances in which the business is granted due process in a hearing of its position in the matter.

Bluntly put, government should never be given the power to simply pick which businesses are to be the winners without the losers having their fair day in an appropriate judicial proceeding.

Our Constitution guarantees every person (including businesses) a fair hearing by way of due process under the laws of our nation and no enterprise should be denied the ability to continue conducting business until such time that an appropriate judicial authority has ruled otherwise under the laws of our nation. Dumbo Halkitis and Simple Simon do not have the authority to bypass due process and unlawfully shutdown or otherwise impede or interfere with the business activities of any enterprise.
