My thought was why was there an enlarged picture of a siren at the top of the page, but the escaped murderer has his small pictures lower? Shouldn't the focus be more on him?

I am just flabbergasted. I figured with such a well researched and properly implemented tax system in place, refunds would be as smooth as the Baha Mar opening. Oh yeah sorry that is still not open yet. Well I am sure by the time Baha Mar opens in March, those vendors would have received their refunds.

@reverendrichlive....For some reason you feel the need to be condescending and rude to persons stating their opinion. The government may not be involved with the fee increase but as a constitutional monarchy, the government still has a say. We are not a dictatorship yet. By the way use your intelligence, as I can see you do possess by your comments, instead of venomous words.

I have noticed the constant attacks over the leadership capabilities of Dr Minnis is on the rise. I think we are forgetting that the now ensconced political party had members fighting in the House and embarrassing the country with the late Anna Nicole. We were all incensed back then at the cowardice of the Christie administration.
Yet our short term memory developed Alzheimer or dementia as he is back in power. I would give Mrs. LBT a try but at the moment Dr. Minnis is the person who was chosen. We used to say PM Christie was spineless ( but yet persons voted for him and will do so again if he decides to run like he is threatening to do). So it is unfair to classify Dr Minnis in this same group of invertebrates as we did our PM.
Can Dr Minnis be worst than a leader who called a referendum and spent tens of thousands of dollars to then nullify the results? A leader who is insisting on carnival while some hurricane hit islands are still in recovery? Can he really be worst than a leader who throws the police under the bus, makes numerous empty promises? I can go on and on.
You all are making it seem as though the current leader has raised the bar so high that Dr. Minnis doesn't stand a chance of doing a better job. Not that I am saying there is no good in this current leader. His party has done a lot of good I am sure. After all this current government has perfected the ability to borrow funds so that should count tor something.

Unless I am mistaken, persons who lost in the constituency they were running in, were asked to step down from the council? I do not mean to sound callous but this is not some Scouts or Junior Achievement group. We are discussing the effective running of a country. The lost of your seat to another party, sends the picture that the people do not wish for you to represent them.
Let us now find someone else to sit in those seats. I am saddened as some of those persons were seasoned veterans, but we have to make way for others to now sit on the council. If those dismissed feel disenfranchised they can speak out or/and join another party.
Also this anonymous thing shows me that if elected, you may also be afraid to stand up for your constituents. If you feel so strongly about what you are doing then do it openly. As for those of us writing on this forum under an alias, those who know me, know I am always on the frontline and as a Unionist, I have even had a former employer attempt to sue me.

I really appreciate the concern about the environment shown on these posts. Unfortunately come election day, many of us will still vote this party back in, because we do not trust the FNM to bring change or fear the DNA is too small and untried. We cannot continue to vote for these people who have no morale compass and would sell their mother in her rocking chair on the front porch, for a buck.

The same is true in Eleuthera. Sad even in case of xrays one has to either pray that the people from Nassau happens to be holding clinic in Spanish Wells or get on the plane or boat. The cost are astronomical if it is a serious emergencies or after dark when the regular flights stop running and you need a private plane.
The clinics are small, and a lot of needed medication is often out of stock. Considering Eleuthera produced so many key political power houses including Sir Roland Symonette, I would have thought government would not have overlooked it so. Talks about building a mini hospital here has been going on for years.

I just love to hear rich folks complain of fear. I have but only one old vehicle to drive and when I get home I cannot drive through my gated fence or gated community into my home. Yes sir he sure understands the plight of the regular people on the street. The people who do not have the luxury of getting off from work when they feel like it. I do get the point he was trying to make but he needs to run his speeches/ statements past his publicist first. The case of his slain close family member does highlight how crime can affect us all, but dude this article was insensitive on so many levels. So to encourage persons to not invest here will not help in the long run, The Bahamas consists of more than New Providence (to you government officials out there), sorry I meant its more than just Cable Beach and PI. Nonetheless sir continue to add your 5 cents as you are at least one of the more intelligent politicians in the media today.

The messenger you have raised a valid point. Will the insurance company decrease premium amounts, include additional services on to what we are now receiving? I doubt they will do anything except raise their prices to try to recoup any loss.

This headline caught my attention immediately. Delusional is such a politically correct word to use. I know that the Bible says that if you have faith enough to tell a mountain move, it shall, but his faith in himself is astronomical. I really needed this story to end my day on. I wonder if anyone committed to Sandilands Rehabilitation Center actually say that they are delusional/crazy?
