He refuses to even consider or fathom that other people can have different believes than his self because he feels that he is morally superior to people who do not share his worldview.
Christianity is based on the Bible, which is a text that can be interpreted. Different people draw different things from the text and some people don't draw on the text, at all, for moral instruction.
This is one of main reasons that it should not be used and is not used to create laws. If an individual decides to govern their life based on Christian doctrine that is there choice, likewise, someone can choose not to govern their lives based on it or any of its numerous interpretations.
I'm an atheist, your scriptures have no meaning to me. It is arrogant to assume that everyone governs their lives according to same philosophy as you. The world does not revolve around you, nor Christianity.
