On Family Islands the government needs to change its strategy. It needs to centralize development or else its going to spread resources to thin. Like what Sheep runner said above they need to build a common building.
But they also need to give the family islands the ability to go after development options other then selling land to foreigner's for luxury accommodations and resorts.
How about a boutique salt company, it can even be nationalized. Unfortunately government is so short sighted.
We don't have enough teachers period. We're to small of a nation to not hire foreigners for specialized positions. The government just needs to make sure Bahamians get training from foreign specialist and that Foreigners are only given work in sectors with talent shortages.
Or if you want the government can force you to become a teacher and you'll teach where they decide
It needs regulation. If they do it without any foresight it'll be a dumpster fire. People will rush to grow hemp on any piece of land as well as rushing to get a license. There will have to be an effective tax on returns from the industry and it will have to be set up so that everyone and their Grammy doesn't "receive" weed for free or else they wont make a good profit margins.
Wow after many promises by many administrations we have actually made a commitment to solar. Good Job Brave, now get the Ragged Islanders jobs and they'll be set.
Not with a global inflation crisis. the government would do better by introducing a progressive tax for capital rather then spreading money out to more people making inflation worse.
