At this point they should turn the hotel into housing estate for Grand Bahamians. At least it wouldn't be empty and functionless. Plus if GB does flood again these apartments will be high enough to escape the surge.
This is a sad situation but is one of the struggles archipelagic nations face. It is impossible for us to concentrate medical or any resources throughout the country with our economics. This just makes realize the importance the air ambulance is.
I hope the government would construct a plan approach to health care distribution for the Northern, Central, and Southern Bahamas. As well as upgrade the Air Ambulance services Furthermore they need to subsidize the Air Ambulance so no one should pay over $1000. Because people in the Family Islands shouldn't have to break the bank just to go to the hospital.
I'm glad to see teachers are getting better pay. Unfortunately unlike other bloated government departments educators are overworked, underfunded, and short in staff.
Can we acquire some surveillance aircraft with night vision and more radar. Because whether we have Gender equity or not doesn't improve our security situation.
I think the surrey rides are a historic practice that should continue only if the government enforces hard health regulations and builds a proper stables for these horses to be kept. The problem is we like unions and unity when its about payment but then ignore them when it comes to regulations.
Nassau(downtown) was a city made for horses, bikes, and walking. Not cars but if the government continues their unsafe condition and refuse to require unionized regulations Surreys are set for disasters. Our downtown used to be a centre of living and commerce.
Now it is a tourist trap that everyone commutes to with tiny roads that flood with little parking for the 10,000+ cars, driven by everyone and their Grammy
How about a efficient Public Transport System or Hybrid Car subsidies. Enough of people in this country being pilfered for gas money. This wont happen because the Fuel Barons wouldn't allow it.
He isn't rediscovering our own national identity, rather rediscovering the identity of past Bahamians. We are not culturally relative to Lucayans although, some of their history and linguistics link with ours.
