So you don't want the wealthy to pay no taxes. Let me guess you gone pave ya own road, hire the fire service to save ya house, and home school the kids.

You just need a online database with up to date property records you don't need to man each island with taxmen. So when its tax day you'll have a record of the properties that paid and didn't pay.

Dont elect the FNM then. Simple

The Bahamas should lower its consumption of gas via good Public transport, Renewable energy, and Hybrid vehicles. Paying for fossil fuel we don't have and relying on it makes us indebted and a beggar essentially.

What happened to medium density, 3-5 floors, why the hell does Lyford Cay would need that. The services, small roads, lack of good public transport, lack of consistent power, and hurricanes show that tall permanently occupied accommodations isn't viable.

Who wants to walk up the stairs when your on the 9th floor. 6 story's is as high as residences should go in this country unless we solve these issues.

Flyingfish says...

Yeah and a bajillion percent raise in rates as well

Flyingfish says...

How much Taxi drivers does this tiny country need. The rates will have to go up for individual drivers if
1 They don't own their plates
2 More than necessary taxi drivers in the industry
3 Not serving the Bahamian Native market
4 Lack of commercial unionizing to form companies.

Unfortunately this stupid government just gave out 600 new plates for no good reason and refuse to regulate this long standing industry.

We all know the history but right now its going down the drain because of poor policy in Public Transportation.

Mr. Pinder you should put it as a stock investment on ArawakX, you'll probably raise the funds.

Flyingfish says...

The reason why the 4 referendum bills were rejected was misinformation and lack of info. Either through negligence or intention the government refused to properly explain what each bill would bring. People were led to believe things about the bills that wasn't the case because of the government not informing Bahamians and muddying the waters.

All you needed was the PM to come on TV with a journalist asking him questions in relation to the bills and the properties and people would understand. The same bills would pass today and even possibly then if they explained the bills.

The reason why there isn't backlash to the bills being implemented now is because it was always popular enough but was very fishy and not understood by voters. Bahamians being a cynical electorate hate the wool being pull over their eyes and voted no in protest.
