Ikalik... nobody as such goes to court trial in The Bahamas, let alone to jail unless they came from an over-the-hill family, that is, of the grass-root origin. There's one set of laws for us and quite another set of laws that applies to them.
So you may wish that until you are blue... the most you will come out of it is a 'Commission of Inquiry' or some 'Parliamentary Committee' so stack with their usual and familiars. And this in itself is a rewarded to their compatriot to earn an extra bonus/income so as to help them pay their children' college or university school fees.
I have lived to see it soooo many times beginning from the first ring play of 1983...
this is a brilliant move by bradley roberts & the plp:
Among do's and dont's of political parties is the strategy not to hold a convention until after the other political party hold their own first. In this case, the FNM Central Council has already committed to setting down a date for a convention by the end of February. Most FNM Party supporters wants to have a convention ASAP, as early as April to address the ineptitude in its leadership.
It is hoped that, during this convention, a full election of officers will take place. The issue as to choosing a suitable leader to lead the Party into the next general election will be decided. The PLP, under the chairmanship Mr. Bradley Roberts, by pushing back their convention so far down into the calendar year, is effectively intuiting for the FNM to keep its present Party Leader, Dr. Hubert Minnis. This, it is felt, is tantamount to the FNM not contesting the next general election. The PLP would win easily.
Should the FNM be tempted not to have a convention ASAP, as in April, and it follows this strategic guideline for political conventions, the only next practical date to hold a convention would be in January of 2017. This leaves 6 - 8 months max. for any leader in the Party to ready the FNM's political machinery for a general election. Would this then be too late to choose an alternative leader? The PLP thinks so!
This is a brilliant political move that can only be made by a master such as Mr. Bradley Roberts. Not necessarily his politics, but now you'll see why I love this man? You don't need a 'pace-maker' for your heart if you are on the opposing side from Chairman Roberts.
"The memo, entitled ‘Report regarding request for extra workforce for the Baha Mar project’ and obtained by The Tribune, shows CCA requesting that China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) send it at least another 450 Chinese workers to give it a chance of hitting the March 27 target."
So they needed an extra "450 Chinese workers" not... "450 workers" or Bahamian workers for that fact.
And they say you should not used expletives to express they way you feel when Foreignors come in your Country and your Government allows them to treat you like this?
Ikalik.... Where are you??? Put a number on this for me please. Thanks.
Well monkeedoo, even MonkeeDo sees my point... To this I burrowed a few beats from Paul Simons' song 'Crazy Love' which could end up being the sentiments that may express the thoughts of the eligible voters as of today:
" She says she knows about jokes, This time the joke is on me, Well, I have no opinion about that, And I have no opinion about me.
Somebody could walk into this room... And say your life is on fire... It's all over the evening news, ...All about the fire in your life... On the evening news.
I don't want no part of this crazy love... I don't want no part of your love... I don't want no part of this crazy love... I don't want no part of your love... "
He, Dr. Minnis, is the only one in the room who doesn't realize his life is on fire. And I don't mean in the FNM sense either... it's truly burning down. The episode reminds me of my life just before I went into my own spiral... Everyone sees your oncoming predicament except you. If only we would heed. It's sad... nonetheless... a humble child tastes the grace of God!!!
Now this comment, though insightful, makes me laugh. On the point of his persona (indifference and detachment), this would really be a horse of a different color situation that Long Islanders would be asked to mount and ride to town.

Hold on... now wait just one doggonit minute... say what you'll wanna say about them water boys but leave them cheerleaders alone!!!
They do make a significant contribution to the team (if only to bring out the better and versatile side of me).
Now I ask you to respectfully recant any negative remarks gestured towards the lovely cheerleaders. Thank you.

Then how is it that Dr. Minnis himself don't realize this... does he actually think that the PLP fear him by cheering on?
