and BTW the government does not make a distinction when it steals from a Bahamian or a non-Bahamian's NIB contributions.

Whats wrong with that? Everybody comes from somewhere, it is actually a sign of strength for a society to allow its members to celebrate their heritage. We Bahamians also come from Andros, or Long Island or Ragged Island. Its not only an honor for a foreigner to be granted Bahamian citizenship, its also an honor for the Bahamas, if a foreigner choses (and works hard) to become Bahamian.

absolute useless and purposeless article. A note of Justin Bieber scratching his ass is more exciting and bears more content than this.

make no mistake, these so called other authorities have no moral authority. these are the same people that would kill gays, HIV positive persons, anybody that does not fit into their short list of "what's morally good". @ Rory, I agree with you, however how about taking the view that the Judiciary is complicit to the murders.

This {judicial system) is a breeding ground for anarchy. Justice has to be orderly. Its ok to be deported swiftly if illegal in the country or getting a parking fine. But to convict a murderer for murder is too complicated. I guess it has much to do with having the right relatives and be flush with cash in this country. The Judiciary could be the moral authority in this country, and stand out from the rotten class of politician and dealer wheelers that take us for a ride. Unfortunately it just choses to join their ranks.

Just read this, its from one year ago, in a Country far far away from the Bahamas, where there are plenty of resources to tackle VAT fraud / VAT and the Bahamas don't go together, face it, not even academically.

agree with you 100%. However lets face it. If you go to a Chinese rural community and someone commits a crime, chances are that the perpetrator is close to 100% Chinese. Reality is that, it is the young black Bahamians (that does not mean the other members of society in the Bahamas, whether green, yellow, white or red) are mostly at risk of being sucked in the devious cycle of drugs, material wealth, girls and testosterone pushing due to the fact that across the Bahamas the common sense has lost its case and due to ruptures in the social fabric. The French have a saying: 'Ne churches pas quatre heures a midi" - don't look for four o'clock pm at Noon. Lets not fool ourselves.

well simple, increase the insurance rates and make the insurance companies responsible for insuring only properly working cars. close dept of motor vehicles, send the employees working for Sands Hotels and use the area as a paintball arena. more revenue for the government, less expenses, more safety, less drivers and cars. happy life, better in the Bahamas.

ok. If a guy kills a guy and he knows because he killed a guy, he gets killed himself, either through the vigilante system or the judicial system, what keeps him from finishing up his job and take a few more on the way? Now, I hope someone at the DA's office filed the paperwork correctly, else they hang the wrong one (I don't expect the judicial system being able not to mix up DNA probes neither). And last but not least, in another case, if a guy raped a woman in 2012, wtf is he doing out on the street on 30th of January 2014? And if he did not like the food and the TV programs at Fox Hill, I guess they should have let him out with a chastity belt rather than an ankle monitor. cheaper too.
